I wanted to like this game because I really like the art style it went for. Unfortunately I cannot recommend it.
Pros:
The game looks good and the effects make it look quite unique. It also runs great without any noticeable drops.
I found the calendar structure pretty cool even if it did not change the game that much after the first week.
Cons:
The driving physics feel sluggish, the car has a tough time starting a drift and also refuses to stop drifting when it doesnt feel like doing so.
The story starts with a lot of exposition in the prologue and then takes a back seat. After the first hour or so you will only get like 4 more short cutscenes, which may be a good thing because I did not make me care whatsoever and probably won't make you either. (Some dialogue is painfully cringe and made me want to turn off my speakers)
BY FAR the biggest con has to be the implementation of cops. They are awfull. They do not present any challenge yet they are insanely annoying. They have a tendency to spawn right next to you whenever you feel like you are just about to escape them. This happened to me enough to make me hate them. They also seem to only target and slow down the player during races, with little regard to other opponents. The weird hit detection also makes them a pain to deal with.
Conclusion
I got the game for less then 5 bucks and I am at the time of review at the beginning of week four. I feel conflicted about finishing the game. I find myself not having a good time but having already spent 20 hours on the game I want to push through to the end. I have no intention of even trying the multiplayer.
I only gave the game a chance because I fell in love with the effects that are displayed when drifting and flying. I would only suggest buying the game if, like me, you enjoy the way it looks. Otherwise your time and money is better somewhere else.
