As a fan of Pokemon Mystery Dungeon when I was growing up, this game scratches an itch I never knew I had. It's Pokemon Mystery Dungeon meets Hearthstone if you only controlled one character and instead of Pokemon moves, you used various cards as your special moves. The game really opens up once you get a couple exciting cards you can play and can feel good about, so don't give up if you're just getting started!

The gameplay has various options you can choose from, from summons, area of effect attacks, precise attacks, interesting movement and more. It has an addicting progression to it, in the form of collecting cards by opening packs, making changes to make your deck better, and starting a dungeon again. The game is highly strategical and the deckbuilding has great depth, with 5 card archetypes with their own playstyles and any combination between them being possible (even a rainbow deck with a limited version of all 5 archetypes if you wanted to). This deckbuilding allows for very creative gameplay and countless combos. You can go as fast or as slow as you want to depending on how complex you make your deck.

This game is great, but there are a couple things I wish were better. First, the fact that you are locked using your character, unless you start a new game or perform some secret actions really sucks in my opinion. It's just an aesthetic thing, but sometimes you want to switch up your appearance, and this game makes it really hard to do. Second, the cards are sometimes not precise enough in their description. For example, the range at which each card casts is confusing to me. Maybe this comes with more experience, but I wish it were clearer in the deckbuilder, unless I am missing something. I also wish there was a better search function in the deckbuilder.

In the end, I highly recommend this game to strategy minded players who can enjoy theory crafting decks and playing tactically on an isometric board. The deckbuilder isn't introduced to you too well, but if you have experience with other deckbuilders, you will figure it out.

Also, the game has a fishing mini-game! (and it gives decent rewards)

A really approachable game that's simple to learn and hard to master. A very simple game on the surface that has incredible mechanical depth once you get better at it.

Great game where you can choose how you want to fly based on whether you want to relax or try to break your highscore.

I really wish they hadn't ruined the modding of such a great game like Skyrim by adding paid mods.
