TF2 used to be one of the greatest games in existence, with solid gameplay and a goofy community. However, Valve released a terrible update to matchmaking and then left the game forever, allowing bots and cheaters to steadily increase in number until today they typically outnumber honest players in most matchmade lobbies.
Until such time as Valve does something about this, I cannot in good faith recommend anyone download TF2 -- in fact, I'd recommend you stay away for now. Play something else, check back in a few months.

More than anything, Grim Dawn is an ARPG that has content for all different levels of investment. You can grind top builds for ages if that's your thing, but you can also target-farm build-defining items as you go along at even low levels. The devs have kept improving the experience over the years with a focus on accessibility and fun without sacrificing the hardcore potential and without reducing the game's strategic complexity. They're still releasing content, with a huge DLC coming out soon, years after anyone would have expected them to even pay attention anymore.
If you like the ARPG genre, get this game, including the DLCs. It is pretty unlikely you'll regret it.

Do you like Star Wars?
Do you like tabletop games?
Do you like space?
Do you like classics that always come up around the water cooler but you never have anything to say about?

If you answered "yes" to even a single one of these questions, you ought to be glad to spend $30 on this absolute GOAT. Fortunately for you, it only costs $10, and keeps going on sale for $5.

So do yourself, me, and whatever corporation currently owns the distribution rights a space-sized favor and get this game yesterday.

Sincerely,

Hades is a game that gives you a playground of cool features. And just when you think you've figured it all out, the game finds a way to expand the toolbox, add content, and give you more things to do. And this it does it again, and again.
If you like zipping around and hitting things, you can put roughly infinity hours into this game.

The undeniable fact is that this game is gross. Very, very gross. It was honestly a turnoff at first.

But if you can get through the grossness - and I, a very squeamish person, was able to - it's just incredibly fun. The gameplay is tight with a low skill floor and a high skill ceiling, and with a dozen characters and hundreds of items, the variety is infinite even before we get to the procedural level generation. And with item unlocks relying on attaining different milestones in different game modes with different characters, you're strongly incentivized to experience the game in different ways.

Bottom line - the game is so immersive and engaging that I don't even register the poop anymore.

1 hour of play: "if I fabricate a claim on two more counties, I can form this kingdom and have cassus belli to invade the rest!"
10 hours of play: "marrying this princess will give my kids a claim they can press for her father's realm, but marrying this barbarian heathen will give me a chance at a genius heir... well, I suppose I can marry one and seduce the other."
100 hours of play: "now that my daughter-wife has given birth to a genius child, I can appoint her as commander and send her to a plague-ridden province until she dies and he becomes the next in line. If his brother becomes popular with the voters, I can always get rid of him by throwing him in the dungeon. The Pope may not like it, but who cares? I'm his boss!"

Every bit the prequel it should have been - fast paced, tense, and often unpredictable. The puzzles are occasionally too obvious but often require some precise timing and jumping, which can make up for it, and there isn't enough differentiation between the different weapons. However, they're all fun to use, so just pick the one that looks coolest (pistol) and don't worry about the others.

As an added bonus, I just finished watching Arrow, so being stranded on an island and learning to be a hardened bow-toting survivor was a lot of fun.

For those who like DnD 3.5, I can hardly recommend any other game. I've put more hours into this gem than into TF2, which should tell you something.
