I'm not saying to genuinely enjoy this game you need a high I.Q...
...but to genuinely enjoy this game you need a high I.Q.

Jokes aside when it comes to logic-based systems I've never been adequate.
I've been gaming for a long time and am no stranger to puzzle or strategy (RTS/4X) games, but usually shied away from anything logic (even Minecraft redstone). Figured it was a whole can of worms I'd regret opening if I messed with it. Really skeptical of this game, but ALL my other friends from a group played it, so what the hell I bought it...

I spent 32 hours in 3 days trying to get a tracking solar array on Vulcan (did Vulcan only because all my friends only ever did Moon and Mars, which I thought was boring) to work, with dragging a friend in multiple times to assess. Even resorted to guide reading / Youtube watching / Reddit lurking and I still couldn't get it to work properly. Eventually gave up, but always felt a nagging desire to go back.

The design style was very pleasing. It was the 2 handed gameplay, inventory control, the way you could actively build components with tools and interact with items that pulled me in. I wouldn't go as far as to say I'd play alone, but if I see my friends playing I'll gladly hop in and help where I can - learning along the way. It helps to have real world knowledge of physics, astronomy (knew about solar angles and other related things from my interest in space), maybe engineering. If you aren't keen on learning probably don't get this. Definitely is not a cake that would be enjoyed by all.
