This game is like having won the lottery, only to get mugged in the parking lot 2 minutes after by someone named "balance patches".

Gameplay is similar to the first game - which is fantastic. Biggest problem is the UI. It isn't intuitive or easy to understand. I'm finding myself constantly unsure on what certain icons or buttons do, whether an item is currently active or if I need to manually activate it. Weapon mod system is hard to find in the first place. Spent a good 10 minutes pressing buttons trying to find a menu or button or ANYTHING that uses the weapon mods I've picked up.

TLDR: When you spending more time trying to navigate/understand the UI and where anything is, than doing shooty-shooty, game can get very frustrating.

Yeah I'll keep this brief...

It's a logistics game similar to [insert dumb opinion here], but doesn't look like diarrhea and has a science fiction space setting.
Say goodbye to petty hindrances like food, family, porn, even life itself - there is no greater cause.

I'm not saying to genuinely enjoy this game you need a high I.Q...
...but to genuinely enjoy this game you need a high I.Q.

Jokes aside when it comes to logic-based systems I've never been adequate.
I've been gaming for a long time and am no stranger to puzzle or strategy (RTS/4X) games, but usually shied away from anything logic (even Minecraft redstone). Figured it was a whole can of worms I'd regret opening if I messed with it. Really skeptical of this game, but ALL my other friends from a group played it, so what the hell I bought it...

I spent 32 hours in 3 days trying to get a tracking solar array on Vulcan (did Vulcan only because all my friends only ever did Moon and Mars, which I thought was boring) to work, with dragging a friend in multiple times to assess. Even resorted to guide reading / Youtube watching / Reddit lurking and I still couldn't get it to work properly. Eventually gave up, but always felt a nagging desire to go back.

The design style was very pleasing. It was the 2 handed gameplay, inventory control, the way you could actively build components with tools and interact with items that pulled me in. I wouldn't go as far as to say I'd play alone, but if I see my friends playing I'll gladly hop in and help where I can - learning along the way. It helps to have real world knowledge of physics, astronomy (knew about solar angles and other related things from my interest in space), maybe engineering. If you aren't keen on learning probably don't get this. Definitely is not a cake that would be enjoyed by all.

My loins burn with passion for this game. Being able to quickly problem solve hazards, complete work orders like a real job, optimize my work efficiency, and make the most amount of money in the shortest time is satisfying. As a big space nut I've always dreamed of being able to have a career like this - and so far it's delivered.

In regards to performance: Pretty average for a game like this. With many objects stacked on each other you're bound to have some issues with collision/clipping. I've experienced my ship being yeeted into the Outer Rim because of a loose chair, or a computer is clipped into a wall just enough so when I attempt to remove carefully it rubberbands all over causing chaos like my friend jacked up on stimulants. FPS tanks when shoving something large into a furnace, when something explodes, and periodically when inside a ship.
Devs are pretty current with fixing game breaking bugs though, so as of this review I haven't experienced more than FPS drops.

- Devs are active, with constant updates.
- Plenty of ship diversity.
- Many equipment improvements you can buy.
This greatly pleasures me

Can't say I'm a fan of the "southern" music (to each his/her own), but having LYNX give off the "southern space junkers" vibe feels like something you'd expect in the future.

Just buy the game before I get mad.
