I've actually played this game off and on for over 20 years and have thousands of hours. It's awesome.

Guild Wars 2 is awesome and I recommend it to anyone. Just not from the Steam platform. Get it straight from the developer. The bundles are better and the support is better. Any time an issue arrives, Steam and the developer point fingers at each other about who is causing the problem. Neither tries to actually help. Meanwhile, my original non-steam account works great and support is always on deck if I need a hand.

The game itself is pretty fun. Need to fix mobile connect for android. Constantly boots you from your Steam account and have to mess around with settings and logging in and out of your Steam app to get back in. I'm tired of having to mess with the game for 45 minutes every time I want to play.

Wait until launch...

It launched! Was a bit rocky.

Just dropped last patch until July. Still barely playable if you don't want to solo. Devs also announced that no new content will be added until a couple of months after the July patch. I wouldn't bother playing until September.

Early Access Review
The game feels like some one was playing The Secret World and decided to take it upon themselves to fix the combat. They did a great job at it. The mobs are just challenging enough. Combat and class abilities feel meaningful. The class reconfiguration options make this game really fun to play. Gearing affects ability options as you level. You can really customize the feel and playstyle of each class a lot. It is a little repetitive right now. There are only 2 games modes available and 3 or 4 maps.
Fighting against a human controlled dungeon master type enemy can be challenging.
You can grind out a new class unlock in 10-15 games for the cheaper classes. The very expensive classes might take you as much as 150 or so games to grind out. Right now, you can unlock all the classes with currency earned in game. I haven't had any of the graphics issues I see a few other people complaining about. There are still some placeholders for tooltips and other obviously unfinished content. Nothing too gamebreaking.
Overall, I like it a lot and am excited to see how it grows.

I can't recommend it right off the bat. The tutorial is much too drawn out with a micro-lesson mentality. (Press this button, talk for 30 seconds, now press this button.) The character creation is pretty lacking. You can only manipulate your character's face. The default keyboard bindings are bizarre and even once you remap them the interface behavior is odd. (having to use WASD when a mouse drag should be utilized, the method of closing menus changes depending on what level you are in inside the interface of ten swapping with a the method of doing a completely opposite control in the previous menu.) Navigating menus is made overly complicated by constantly bouncing between different methods of opening/closing windows and interacting with things in those menus. I don't use controllers at all and the mouse input is annoying. It's bouncy and there is sometimes significant input lag. I think playability will be significantly increased once I get all the bindings set to buttons that make sense. It's like the people creating the keyboard interface have never actually played with one before. Or maybe they had completely separate teams building different features of the UI and none of them ever bothered to consult with each other.

******Multiplayer experience rated only. I do not play the single player campaign.******
Every year I say "I'm not buying CoD. I'm not buying CoD." Then I buy it, and I'm massively disappointed. I liked the first few so much that I keep falling for it again.(Played since CoD 2) I was delighted with this one. There still aren't any dedicated servers. So hackers and lag are issues. Lag can be a really bad issue. I'm not sure why, but hackers seem to be much less of a problem than in the last couple of installments. You find the obvious aim botter every now and then, but it isn't that big of an issue. The EXO abilities are lots of fun, and I like the tweaked weapons you get from supply drops. We're not regaining any of the glory of MW1 or Black Ops 2, but it is definitely a step in the right direction.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE Give us dedicated servers!!!!!!
