I keep this game running in winter to heat my room. Besides that, the combat is pure dopamine.

One of the few horror games I'll actually replay and have fun each time. Satisfying combat, exploration, story, enemies, level and sound design like the original. New game+, impossible mode and some of the hidden stuff gives extra reasoning to replay it too. All I'd ask for is a bonus mutator setting you can turn on that might add extra brutes to a section, an exploder infestation, or twitcher hell just for fun/extra challenge on replays (the intensity director if it felt like being a douche). Either or, game's pretty good.

Quite impressive and has great potential, but I'd wait till' it's fully out or after a couple more content updates (yielded about 4-6 hours for me, with 2 playthroughs). Also, when do I get to dual wield an extra pistol? I got like 3 of them laying around lol

(I know this review might be a mess, but I was kinda not feeling organized today so whatevzzz, here is my brain dump on DL2) Overall, I enjoyed playing the game for the most part. The graphics are fine, the story is fine (based on people's comments, for the love of god play through it again, there's multiple outcomes in case you hate the ending you got. There's a decent amount of them at least.), I liked the characters enough to the point where I felt bad for some outcomes involved with them, the parkour sacrifices tightness for floatiness which is good and bad at the same time, the combat feels really fun especially with humans (also for people complaining that it's too easy, I better not catch you playing on easy or normal, play it on hard at least. The AI will prevent you from spamming the same attack and requires more strategic attacks.) As for the music, it's actually cracked and amazing in my opinion. *NEGATIVES* As for negatives, the worst revolves around some bugs and keybinding issues. I haven't been hardlocked yet, but I know some have been stuck in deathloops so I imagine that will be fixed hopefully soon. For me, I just hope we get more actions to map and hotkey fixes. With the Block and Hold "V" to charge, V also is the flashlight option and it can't be rebound as of writing this, and the other issue is that the ability always activates when I turn it on or off, even when I am not blocking which it explicitly says that you need to do to even use it. Or on a smaller note, there are 3 menus which have "Cycle" bindings for them (Weapons, Equipment, Consumables) which will bring up a menu to view those items when you HOLD the button. However, the rebinding only affects the tap to switch, and you still have to hold the original buttons to pull up a menu. It's small, but the annoyance adds up sometimes when combined with other keybind issues like with the charge as I mentioned earlier. There are other bugs revolved around froze zombies such as howlers every so often, but I'm tolerant of those bugs if they are on a small scale, plus I imagine it'll be resolved soon enough as I have faith in Techland based on their response so far with bugs and such. I can't say much on coop yet, since I have not tried it, but it seems issues are getting hot-fixed based on patch notes. Eventually I hope in nightmare mode or a dlc that roaming volatiles will be a thing in the night, especially with the Center Loop since I just feel "too safe" on the rooftops honestly and don't believe that I should purposely have to anger a howler to start a chase, it should be a constant hazard to watch for in my opinion. Overall, I do believe Techland tried to address the main complaints of the first game, and were able to put out a decent game. It has it's issues with bugs/keybinds/some story holes/skill bugs/ etc, and I won't nit-pick here about them, but I had fun and am still having fun on my 2nd playthrough. I personally think people might be a bit harsh on the game as some have unrealistic expectations, but everyone has a different experience with the game and I would be quite upset if I was 20 hours in and got stuck in a death loop even after trying to reset the game and get a better safe checkpoint. Also, I predict that when the game goes on sale for like 30 or less, a lot of opinions will change about the game probably as did the first game due to increased accessibility. The game isn't for everyone or is accustomed to all DL1 veteran tastes, but to me, this was the first AAA game I've decided to get in about 3-4 years and I like it. (***not trolling, I only say this due to some people in discussions going ape#@* over a dude's different opinion and experience of the game***) That's all I really have to say, if you go in (assuming keybinds are fixed and most bugs), expect a good looking game (imo) with a decent interactive story (not Red Dead 2 or Dark Souls level of drug infused story-writing quality, but still good enough based on Techland's goal to try something different for themselves and us), semi strategic and satisfying gameplay on HARD mode (don't play easy and say the game's combat sucks, please unless you're some troll living under a bridge I guess, or unless you have played Hard mode and still stick with your opinon), an interesting take on new parkour moves, a literal spiderman grappling hook, music that makes you become Chad Chaddington, and a couple other nice features and secrets I'll leave you to find. Give it a go, you're entitled to your own opinion and might have a better or worse experience than me.

*Also, Techland when it comes to hopefully making nights a bit more of a threat in terms of roaming enemies, can we get a Be the Zombie mode eventually? Would be cool especially with the Center Loop's verticality.

***UPDATE*** Thank you Techland for showing initiative in taking care of the keybinding bugs, this takes care of the most annoying moments I've been having in the game.

Had a monopoly over just hogs. Seriously try out this game, it has so much you can do just like the first. An easy 1000+ quality hour experience well worth the price. God bless the people that made this game.
