FULL REVIEW:

About
I have played Project: Gorgon[projectgorgon.com] since February 2nd 2017 after the fall of the Asheron's Call official servers. It immediately captured my heart with its retro-MMORPG feel and innovative take on essential game play elements. The game is nostalgic without feeling dated, harkening back to an earlier time in the history of online gaming.

Tons of Ways to Play
The number of skills is somewhat large given that most are well fleshed-out with a fair amount of complexity. The lack of a class system frees the player to design their build with personalization in mind rather than constraints. This means your "fire mage" is not necessarily your friend's "fire mage", because you might use different tactics which call for different abilities and equipment mods. You might be AoE while your friend is single target (for example) and each requires a different approach. Certain skills synergize damage, healing, or utility nicely with others and make noteworthy combinations. And there are many more skills yet to be added to the game in the future!

Crafting with Purpose
Crafting has great importance in Project: Gorgon and has been given much attention by developers. Players will find high level crafting skills both lucrative and highly beneficial in combat. Players can craft many types of leather and cloth armor, jewelry, weapons, potions, and tools to aid them on their adventures. In addition, other non-crafting, non-combat skills have made their way into the game to make things more interesting: Surveying yields gemstones for armor and equipment crafting, Dye Making creates colors to grace said armor, Transmutation allows changing of the equipment attributes to better suit your current build, among others.

Various Appearances
Animal forms are abundant including pig, deer, rabbit, spider, giant bat, various birds, and lycanthrope wolf forms at the time of this review. Flight can be achieved in many ways. Several races are playable, including Humans, Elves, Rakshasas, and Fae (immortal fairies), with Orcs and Dwarves slated to be next.

Strong Development
At the time of writing this review, the game is in Beta development phase with early-access. Devs rotate through bug fixes, implementing new content, and revising old content, ensuring that no issue gets neglected and giving fair distribution of time across all tasks. A blog is maintained where players can find updates on the state of the game and insight into where it is currently headed. Player feedback is highly valued by the devs, and players can submit bug reports or suggestions from the in-game interface. The forum is a great place for players to discuss game topics with others or contact devs about an issue.

Explorers Wanted
The game is heavy on exploration, and even features a spoiler tag for hiding tidbits of information in public chat from those who don't want the surprise ruined. There are many hidden treasures, both literal and figurative, scattered throughout the world and awaiting discovery. Whether it be 500 Orcish xp, or hilarious NPC dialogue, there are many hidden treasures scattered throughout the world and awaiting discovery.
