I think Exogate is a pretty interesting game that really nails generally building a base for exploring the stars through a gateway. I do think that like, the game starts off pretty slowly and I wish there was a little more meat on the bones to like, shock your system earlier. Yet when stuff has been set up and stars progressing you get that sense of like progression and moving objectives forward that is pretty enjoyable.

If your looking for something with a bit of a Dungeon Keeper feel I would recommend, but if you need heart pounding action to keep interested maybe find some other way to get your adrenaline fix.

There is a lot about Dragon Age: The Veilguard that didn't particular care for. The Combat for a large part feels uninspired, the enemies have far too much health, and the vision of being a powerful mage cutting down their rivals is never realized. The dodge and block mechanics are functional, but some fights can get so entirely chaotic without being given tools to solve the issues. The limit a total of three party members is part of the issue here without being able to reliably have all three archetypes in the party at once.

That all said the one thing that the combat does super well is companions feeling like active members in the fight from their voice lines. They will call out when enemies join the fight from a flank (an all too common occurrence of bad guys just kind of showing up.) or enemies attacking from range. I found these lines to be helpful and adding to the immersion by again making them feel like active fighters. I do wish you didn't have to order them to use skills, and the cool down for allies feels far too long. This all leads to combat again feeling like it takes far too long, my chat recommended playing on the lowest difficulty and this seems prudent to me as well.

That said, overall the story moves the Dragon Age universe forward in interesting ways that I'm happy I played, even if I feel like some of the smaller stories have some major missteps. Overall it was a better experience then I thought we would get in the modern era, but still leaves me wishing for a return to some of the conventions the series has moved away from, and a lot of time the game just feels like a Beta test for the next Mass Effect game.

Hello Dear Friends,

Just wanted to take a moment to give my thoughts on Hell Divers 2.

I played a bunch of the first Hell Divers when it first came out and mastered the throwing down distractions and sneaking around the map, I seem to recall beating level 9 difficulty missions solo, but I'm an old man and sometimes these things get away from me.

Anyway back in my day when you were fighting against the menace of super earth you were tied to the rest of your squad and had to rely on good communication in a situation which most people didn't use mics. It was a barbaric time and many a death to a hell bomb would occur.

You kids these days have no idea how good you have it, third person, the ability to climb onto things to show the menace what for? incredible.

Anyway enough about the good old days if you are still reading this then well let's talk about Helldivers 2.

Pros:
  • Gun play feels tight and you are in control, enemies provide a challenge and cohesive game play is needed at the higher levels of play to clear the hard missions.
  • The level of chaos presented with your fellow divers is near to playing a Mario world session, you will kill your friends, it will be funny, sometimes they will kill you back.
  • The idea of having a more global story is very interesting looking forward to spreading managed democracy
  • This is a bargain priced game that has for me already paid for itself at least twice
Cons:
  • Currently there are server issues preventing play currently, you will spend half an hour sometimes getting into the game. It is still worth it.

I hope you found this review useful you young whippersnapper you, now get out there and crush some bugs, fight back the robot menace

Changed Review to not recommend after PSN changes.

Game is a fantasic co-op experience, and the multiplayer vs mode is pretty swanky too.

Definately amazing.
