A minimalist Rainbow Six: Siege except randoms actually work together. Procedurally generated maps means no 2000 hour tryhard is peeking you from one of 100 memorized spots. Satisfying gunplay and overall a lot of fun even without a group. Also, you can draw ♥♥♥♥♥ on the map.

Veterans of Chivalry decided to make a game to fix all the problems Torn Banner wouldn't. They succeeded in creating a game with the best melee system yet conceived and a terrific atmosphere. If you like deep melee combat look no further.

This game is everything a sequel should be. It's everything I wanted and quite a bit of stuff I didn't even know I wanted. Killing orcs is fun, training orcs is fun, and making orcs kill other orcs is fun. Some people have said bad things about the story, but I enjoyed it too. The combat is more advanced with better skills and progression. The gear drops are more varied and can make an impact on playstyle. The Nemesis System has been overhauled with interesting new personalities and styles, plus the orc vs orc combat is way more indepth now. Instead of them playing wack-a-mole with each other they actually duel. If you liked Shadow of Mordor you're going to like this one so much more.

If you're here reading reviews because you heard about the microtransactions and are worried, don't be. The game never pushes them, and it definitely does not force them on you by making the game grindy. I have finished the main story and am in Act IV, all the while on Nemesis difficulty, and this game never feels like a grind. Even the collectibles, which in other open world games feel like a grind, are fun to collect due to the fact that there are normally rewards at the end such as gear or a skill unlock. Not to mention traveling around to gather the collectibles can lead to all sorts of encounters with the Nemesis System.
