I recently got Metro Exodus on the steam spring sale, so I'm going through and replaying the first two games before launching into Exodus. 2033 holds up very strong I'd say. The graphics still look as good as I remember, the weapons still feel as good as I remember, and I still have just as much fun romping around through the metro tunnels. There are a few sections where it's easy to get lost, but you have a compass and a lighter to guide you. The story isn't anything to write home about, but I don't think it really needs to be. Overall I still had fun with this game even though none of the plot twists were surprising anymore. The only section that I really needed outside help on was the library and that's because I didn't listen to one of the NCPS who specifically tells you to listen to what he has to say.

Fallout 2 is a vast improvement on Fallout 1. Admittedly I experienced more bugs on this game than the first, but that was due to hardware issues rather than the game (in most cases). There is some parts that didn't receive as much love in this game, like the talking heads, but the game makes up for it in spades. Companions are better and actually have character to them, much more weapon variety, skills outside of combat are much more useful, the only usable car in the Fallout universe, I could go on. Definitely give Fallout 2 a try, especially after playing the first one.

This is where Fallout began, so admittedly some things are rough. The game itself does not do a particularly good job of telling you where to go, what to do, but sometimes the npcs will. A guide is helpful but also takes some of the fun out of it. The mechanics are tricky to master, but easy to learn. There is a lot of replayability both in this game and Fallout 2 due to the choices the player can make as well as the wonderful inclusion of a dumb playthrough which completely changes the game. I've seen some people have issues with save corruption or other bugs, but I never experienced them myself and managed an entire playthrough using only 2 save slots, one for a full save and one for a quick save. I cannot recommend this game and it's successor enough but I also understand that this may not be the right type of game for everyone.

Wonderful game! Worth the money. Pretty well polished, I haven't experienced any major bugs or glitches. It's difficult at first because it just becomes habit in video games to have to kill enemies to progress, but you really don't have to in Prey, in fact the game becomes really difficult if you want to do it that way. The game teaches you about the options of gloo-ing an enemy up and running away, distracting them, stealthing around, all of the above. Solid 8/10 for good story, GREAT environment, plus who doesn't love aliens?

it's fallout mother effin new vegas. If people's play time didn't catch you, try it for two hours. If it doesn't catch you in that time, send it back, it probably wont after that

This game is easy to sink hours into without realizing. It takes a while to learn but once you get it down, it still isn't entirely easy. Give the game a shot, why not?

All the reviews say like 20 minutes of play time, cause the game doesn't work through steam, but it's easy to get it working without. Great game, worth the price.

I've spent some more time with the game so let me update my review. I enjoyed this game at launch and I still enjoy it today. They've made considerable improvements to the game and the Wastelanders update really made it feel like a new experience. I had just recently played through 4 again and wanted to pick this up and actually "finish" it this time around which I did. The story is acceptable. Not great but the dialogue is better than 4 and there were some genuinely cool moments. However there were some moments that I really felt like should have been expanded on more. The updates seem to be on the way, but I understand the large gap inbetween due to real world circumstances. I enjoy having a new area to explore, and i LOVE the world building in this game. Seriously. The Mire is one of the coolest places fallout has ever been in and that's saying something. Anyways I think if you're on the fence about this one, give it a try. If it doesn't catch your interest in the first 2 hours I think you can safely return it knowing it wont beyond that.

I cannot recommend this highly enough, chances are if you are on this page you already know at least something about this overhaul, but still, get it and play it. I advise you get the special addition if you can though, mostly for better performance / visuals.

it's skyrim, if you're reading the reviews, just get the game.
