I bought this game back in 2014 or something when it was nothing but a literal sandbox with practically no other biomes, and only had a human race. While it has come a long way since then, I believe calling this game "finished" is a lie at worst and a way to wrap things up at best. Even so, I love the game, and I've played it for many hours and will probably play it for many more.

The Bad
If this was an AAA game it would probably still be considered alpha. Even for an indie game, it's incredibly unpolished. It crashes about as often as 32-bit Skyrim with 150 active mods, loading times are insane even on an SSD, pathfinding and AI bugs out constantly, hairstyles, faces, etc still use their placeholder names such as "human_face3" or "ark_ponytail_brokenmesh" etc. Like, there's legitimately a hairstyle where the name indicates the mesh is broken for males. How did this make it to release?

There's also the fact that the engine doesn't feel optimised, the game has to be alt-tabbed once on startup or else the resolution messes up and goes blurry, and it can't really be considered "feature complete". There's no wall-scaling like planned, there's no taking over cities like planned (though you can effectively hand them over to other factions), there's no dual-wielding despite being able to equip up to three weapons at a time (and never needing more than two: a two-handed weapon and a one-handed weapon for when your arms get damaged), and there's a belt-slot that I, even after 200 hours of gaming, still haven't found a use for.

It feels like the developer got tired of working on it and simply slapped a 1.0 on it and said "lol finished". And even so, I love the game.

The Good
Despite all its flaws, this game is unlike any other. It's taken 12 years of development, primarily by a very small team and even one-man team at certain points, and deserves respect for what it is. The game is not story-driven, yet tells a story like no other. There's no handholding in this game besides simple guidelines and tutorials. You hover your mouse over the farming skill and on how to level it up, and it simply tells you "work hard". It creates interest in the same sense Dark Souls does: with a big learning curve. You succeed in the game through trial and error, and every time you fail you get stronger, both character-wise and actual game-knowledge wise. And when you finally get the hang of it, boy does the game open up.

As mentioned, there's no story here, besides small lore additions such as books found in the game, and talking with people in bars. Most don't even have a speech bubble, they just monologue in front of you. Everything is up to the player and their own imagination. What is your background? What are your goals? What are your ways and what are your limits? It's like playing with toy soldiers, only it's all on-screen. Without imagination and the ability to roleplay with oneself, the game is empty and ultimately not a good purchase. But if you do have the ability to imagine, to roleplay with yourself, the game brings hours and hours of fun, almost like reading a good book that writes itself as you go. There's no simple way to describe it. It's a sandbox through an through, a real plaything.

Finally, there's also great mod support. Being a single-player game, there's nothing stopping the player from customising the game with mods, either self-made or from the workshop, to tailor their own experience and get the most out of the game, such as modding out that awful Naruto-run animation when sneaking (lol), or just to fill out the gaps left by developers.

Bottom Line
I recommend this game for those that have the imagination to play it. It can get grindy and tedious, but only if you always stick to one thing at a time. It can get laggy and crashy, but it autosaves often. AI can mess up and pathfinding can be weird, but ultimately it's all worth it due to the unique story you'll be experiencing. The game is a rough and unpolished diamond, but once it does get the polishing it needs, it'll become a true, one-of-a-kind gem. Until then, thought, you've got mods.

All around the most balanced Tekken to come out so far! Every character is viable, and you're only gated by your own mechanical skill and match-up knowledge.

If you're picking this up to get the "full experience" before playing Witcher 3, know that this game feels a bit clunky and dated, however it has aged very nicely. The combat can be a huge turnoff at first, and you need to let the game grow on you a little bit and get used to how it works, but once you do that then an incredible RPG will open up for you.

If you have played through the Prologue and Chapter I without any issues, then it's safe to say you wil continue to enjoy the game. If, however, you cannot bring yourself through the Prologue and/or Chapter 1, don't bother forcing yourself through it and just watch a gameplay/story video of the game on YouTube, then jump to TW2 instead.

All in all, this is a very solid RPG if you can get past its few flaws.
