As of 6th of May, Sony has reversed their decision. Sony still bad, but less so. Game still good.

Game good. Sony bad.

The forced PSN link doesn't affect me personally, but I hate the predatory bait and switch tactic and blatant example of corporate greed on principle alone. Way to go killing the goose that laid the golden egg.

Love the game, love the franchise, but cannot currently recommend it in good faith due to the atrocious business practices of Bandai Namco.

They gutted T8 customisation mode just to sell T7 items back to you through an in-game shop, 2 months after release, once the initial reviews settled. Then they introduced a Battle Pass so lazily made one of the top rewards is a literal white sphere.

Come on, Bamco.

I blink and 11 hours pass.

PROS: The game is huge, with lots of stuff to do, tons of weapons to use, and a lot of ground to explore and secrets to uncover. It's suitably challenging and overall very well made. They have also periodically fixed broken things like gamebreaking bugs, PvP bugs and even the PvP desync issue.

CONS: Unfortunately, the game is very front-loaded, and a lot of content and bosses are recycled. The first time you see a dragon, it's a amazing. The 17th time, not so much. Additionally, boss design (mechanically, visually they are amazing) is worse than previous FromSoft titles. To compensate for a lot of new OP mechanics the player has access to, all the bosses late-game turn into "I can do everything" monsters and become pretty unfair in my opinion.

All in all, the game is good. I got my money's worth out of it and played it for over 300 hours. I did however get burnt out near the end.

It's like Euro Truck Simulator, but with guns and in space.
