Great game with great devs, but do yourself a favor and ignore all the negative reviews that have less than 10 hours played and are complaining about the game. It's got a pretty steep learning curve at first and those people just got filtered. But once you get over the learning curve at the start and maybe make some friends in-game (or just bring in friends that you already know), the game really takes off. There's nothing else like it.

I could write a long review about how the devs are incompetent (I don't say this to be toxic or out of anger, just as a genuine fact- they are clueless) and how the game and balancing are bad, but those are all well known facts about this game by now. If those things didn't deter you from playing then there's 1 more thing that I don't see anyone mentioning and that is the pay2win in this game.

So new players, make no mistake, this game is absolutely pay2win despite nobody ever mentioning this. Some extremely strong perks and killers come from "licensed" DLC's, the contents of which CAN NOT be bought with in-game currency. Their perks can technically appear on the "shrine of secrets" where they can be bought with in-game currency, however you would have to wait years for the perks that you want to show up.
So if you don't want to be at a competitive disadvantage, you will have to cough up some extra money for the DLC's. Or wait a couple years until those perks show up for free.

Just play call of duty or battlefield at this point, those games were at least designed with that type of gameplay in mind.
