I highly recommend this app to anyone looking to automatically adjust your HMD resolution based on the demands of your GPU, CPU frame times, and VRAM usage. In VRChat, for example, this allows me to disable anti-aliasing (AA), freeing up a significant amount of VRAM and reducing the overhead, which can then be used by other resources. I compensate for the lack of AA by setting the maximum resolution the app can adjust to a very high percentage (500% in my case), and in my experience, this results in little to no performance impact. This app is especially useful if you're using an older, low-resolution HMD, such as the HTC Vive.

So I've spent some time with this now and I've gotta say it's absolutely worth the $20 price tag. It's crazy how well this works and I'd highly recommend it to anyone who can't really afford FBT or even if you do have FBT I'd still recommend it. It's as essential to VRChat as OVR Advanced Settings is to SteamVR.

In keeping with the essence of this remarkable game, I'll keep this review succinct to avoid spoilers.

Outer Wilds offers a unique experience without any combat elements. Instead, it invites you to traverse the solar system on foot and by flying, as you embark on an enthralling journey to uncover its many mysteries.

If you're a fan of space simulations intertwined with mystery and puzzle-solving, Outer Wilds is a pinnacle of the genre. The sheer excitement of exploring the vast universe and gradually piecing together information to guide your next steps makes it an unparalleled adventure. I wholeheartedly recommend this game to anyone seeking a profound sense of discovery and exploration. For the ultimate experience, I suggest diving in without any prior knowledge—it will truly be an extraordinary and once-in-a-lifetime journey.

Highly recommend using this overlay above all else. Clean UI, very intuitive. Basically has set the bar for what all VR overlays should strive to reach for. Also the addition of the notifications API for stuff like VRChat is very nice.

So I've only had a minimal amount of experience on this platform so far but really, the brief time I did spend with it was an enjoyable time. There are quite a few things that could be improved, (for example, the frame rate starts to get real chunky even when there aren't many people in an instance) but overall, for what NeosVR is trying to go for, being it's own game engine pretty much that gives you a lot of power and tools to work and experiment with, I had a fun time with it and I really wanna see where it goes. The community has also been pretty friendly as well. NeosVR is still a small niche community so everyone pretty much knows everyone and is overall very welcoming! I definitely want to check in more with this platform and community from time to time.

Do you like the 2D Metroid games?
Are you absolutely starved for more?

Then look no further then Axiom Verge, the best non-Metroid Metroid game is right here.

This game really is something else. I don't know what I could possibly say without spoiling anything, but it's rare that a game comes along, and makes me feel, and connect so strongly with each, and every one of the characters included within the narrative. (Toriel is best GOAT mom.) The art-style I can understand as being subjective, aka not everyone's thing, but it personally clicked with me, and I feel like it perfectly compliments the game. (See LISA: The Painful RPG as another example.) The OST is a glorious mixture of chip-tune, and more modern-esque themes. Well to put it in a much better way, the OST is one of those very rare soundtracks where every single track on the list is just magnifique. Despite being an RPG, the length for this is just the right length with the average playthrough being around 8-10 hours. The combat as well is fantasic, and very unique in how it is implemented, and you'll always need to stay alert during attacks.

I guess the bit of criticism I have would be that some boss battles are a bit unclear as what you need to do to get past them in a non-lethal manner, but as I looked back at my playthrough I realized I wasn't paying enough attention to some of the hints that were being dropped.

All in all I'm still thinking about all of the characters that I've encountered, and I just want to keep going back, and interact with them even more. As a last thing I should add, while there are many games that use the Mother series as a measuring stick in how much they aspire to achieve a similar set of emotions that emerged from said series, Undertale is one of the few games that I feel that truly accomplished what it set out to do, and is one of the finest games to have been inspired by EarthBound.

What I'm trying to say here is if you're looking for something fresh, and have fond memories for Earthbound, if this game has been in your sights lately, and you need a final push then consider this review that push, and do yourself the favor you've been meaning to do. Support this game, Support Toby Fox, Support the Indie Dev industry. All of us here would truly love to see more like this from such a creatively free industry in the future.

EDIT: Beat the game for the second time at the end of 2015. Still 10/10 GOTY / GOAT worthy.
