Let's start with the negatives. Personally, I find the combat in this game to be quite disappointing. It lacks the fluidity I had hoped for, and it fails to deliver the engaging experience I look for in games of this genre. While this might be a deal-breaker for some, I've been able to look past it and discover one of the best games I've ever played.

The fact that I've continued playing this game for 50 hours, even while disliking one of its core features, speaks volumes about the strengths it possesses. It demonstrates that the developers have succeeded in creating a game that excels in multiple areas, compensating for its shortcomings.

edit: Don't get me wrong, just because the combat is not my cup of tea, doesn't mean you won't like it. I'm just more found of a reactive combat, rather than a "think before you attack", kinda like Bloodborne vs Dark Souls 1

The amount of love and respect the developers of this game had for the original is palpable.

Now that I'm calmer and have accepted that I won't be able to play this game for another 3 or 4 months, I will try to be helpful to other people.

My PC specs are:

• GeForce RTX 3060 12GB
  
• AMD Ryzen 5 5600X
  
• 32GB RAM
  
• The game is installed on an SSHD (a hybrid drive that's better than an HDD, but not as good as an SSD)

Apart from all the other problems such as crashes and stuttering, the game doesn't run that well. I get an average of 60fps on 1080p with DLSS quality and any graphical settings. I didn't have any stats on the screen, so I couldn't see if the problem was with my CPU, but my CPU shouldn't have trouble running this game.

I had some texture problems. Even with high settings, some textures looked blurry. If I tried to change graphical settings mid-game, the game would start glitching, and the illumination and textures would get messed up for some time.

I decided that the game wasn't worth my money after the second combat encounter, where it shows you the stealth mechanics. Some of the problems I encountered (SPOILERS for the early game) before that were:

• Almost an hour spent building shadders (not that bad if only done once, but I saw some people saying they had to do it all over again after closing the game)
  
• A lot of stuttering
  
• Audio desync before the car crash, which made the crash really goofy with Sarah screaming a whole 2 seconds before the crash
  
• Really poor performance before and after the Fireflies' attack
  
• After picking up Joel's backpack, the game instructed me to reload my gun by pressing the left mouse button, and to melee with F. I know you reload with R2/R1 in the original game, but that's because they were working with a controller layout, and it's not the same thing with M&K. Fortunately, you can rebind it, but it gave me the impression that the people who ported the game didn't bother to adapt the controls to the PC.
  
• One of the worst things I've seen so far, which I know won't be fixed since it's intentional. When the guy crushed by the locker asked me to mercy kill him, I tried to quickly aim and shoot him but missed his head. For some godforsaken reason, there is a vertical offset to the reticle in this game. Just why? The original game didn't have this issue. Why would I want to aim lower when trying to shoot straight? At this point, I quickly looked at the configs because I knew my 2 hours were almost up, but I couldn't find any option to fix this.
  
• Tess casually killed my FPS when she turned on her flashlight before knocking on the door where the kid opens for her.
  
• At that same scene, I tried to change my settings because the performance was atrocious. After leaving the menu, the game started glitching out, and everything started bugging graphically.
  
• I had to kill the first human enemies by hand because I wasted all my bullets testing the aim offset, but when it came time to finish the last guy, he fell to his knee after a punch, and the game refused to let me punch or grab him for a full 3 to 4 seconds. I could only do something when he started getting up.
  
• At that moment, I was already done with the game. So when I walked behind the guy where you need to stealth him, to my surprise, they changed the stealth mechanics so you are not silent if you're not crouched. That was on me, but I was already fed up, and that was the last straw.

I would advise you to save your money and buy the Resident Evil 4 remake instead. The game is really something else. I would even say that it is one of the best games that I've ever played. The last time I was this invested playing a game was with The Last of Us Remastered for the PS4. I wish someday we could get that game for PC.

And if you still want to play this game, these problems are not due to Denuvo since the game doesn't have it. I'll leave it up to you to decide what to do with that information. ;)

We had a good thing, you stupid ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥! We had mods. We had skse. We had everything we needed, and it all ran like clockwork. You could've shut your mouth, watched and made as much money as you ever needed. It was perfect. But, no, you just had to blow it up. You and your patches and your updates! You just had to be the man. If you'd done your job, known your place, we'd all be fine right now.

it's really clunky, and the controller support is horrible

COD MW2(2022) is a straight up downgrade to COD MW(2019).

It seems like everyone in this community is so anti-movement and anti-skill it's insane. They already removed slide canceling, made the sprint-out times PAINFULLY slow, nerfed jump shoting to the ground, and now there's tons of people happy with the removal of b-hopping because... why? Why do you want any form of fast-paced gameplay axed? I'm genuinely asking. Most of the time, it seems like a skill issue.

If you're pre-aiming an angle, mounted up, and some dude hops around the corner and beams you off of your heady, guess what? You deserve to lose that gunfight. You got outgunned. You should have been able to hit a moving target with how prepared you were. If not, then tough luck, get better.

This community is becoming increasingly receptive to terrible, campy changes being made to the game. Stop begging for every mechanic that increases the skill gap to be removed. Get better or accept that you're gonna get worked every now and then. SBMM should already be protecting you enough.

I cannot be the only one in this community that sees this.

Based game

Don't get me wrong, I cant let them get away with having most of the pornography in the game from stolen or pirated media, but i find the game still very entretaining even after all those years.

If you've never played the original, this version is a no brainer. for those who already played it back in the day, i think you should hold off until it gets a nice discount. It does have some nice additions, but I don't think i would pay full price
