So I came across this game in order to fulfil one of Steam's requirements as part of the Summer Sale Challenge to try a new game and as writing a review is also part of that list then screw it why the hell not and put my first impressions of the game down.

The first thing you will find with this game is the art work and damn if it isn't beautiful! Starting off with a little village in a forest that has an incredible amount to detail to it. The characters themselves are also incredible and right from the start you can tell this is a game you will love getting to gaze at while you play it and the emotions that are drawn on each different pose of the characters you meet really help you realise the mood of the moment.

The story seems okay to begin with, some grand war where you play the part in a rebellion that has just recently lost its leader, your character begins in a confused state with little in the way of memories where you choose your character's gender. From there the story advances and you are provided with a set of options at certain points in order to continue the story.

Voice acting is a bit hit or miss for myself, some characters I love and other just feel out of place or not suited, particularly Shane who has supposedly been interrogated a few times only to be perfectly happy when expecting to face his demise.

Overall what I've played so far I have enjoyed and I will likely continue to play it, maybe consider looking at purchasing the full game depending how I find the overall experience.

Early Access Review
I've been following the development of this game for a little bit and for a newly released early access game I consider it playable although I have already identified some areas of improvement that will make the overall experience enjoyable which I'm sure is already planned to be added to the game.

To start with, the good stuff:

- The game is playable and currently has enough content that you won't get bored after the first hour which doesn't always happen with Early Access games.

- The graphics are simple yet aesthetically pleasing for the most part, during the arena battles there are some odd animations that happen although im sure that will get worked out. One thing I find a bit odd all the blood and yet the arena participents walk out from the arena perfectly fine, I feel like a lasertag or paintballing theme would add a bit of realism to the game without taking away from the overall experience.

- The item system, while small, is a nice addition where you have to stock and maintain the weapons. At time of writing there are a total of 9 weapons, 3 pistols, 3 shotguns, and 3 rifles. It would be great to see armour and other equipment added over time.

- There are some cool, albeit not well explained mechanics that make designing buildings and the sorts a little easier such as when making drawing out the floorplan if the dimensions are both white the room meets the minimum size criterea while other colours indicate either the width or length is too small. Some arenas have different ratings from small - medium - large in which the tool tips while drawing out the floor plan let you know the current building size and how big it needs to be in order meet hte next room size criterea. Additionally after a room is built it lets you adjust it one squeare in any of the 4 compass directions to make expansions easier.

The not so good stuff

- Map edge scrolling is super sensitive to the point that I had to turn it off when hovering over the movement controls because it made the map shoot from one side to the other. Speaking of which, allowing us to use the space bar instead of P for pausing time would be ideal.

- While most are obvious, there is no explanation of the guest needs although there is a setting that shows you all the recent thoughts that you can read through to give you an idea of what people like and what people want. There is also a button of a statue that shows heat map around them although there is no explanation as to what it does or why it has a heat map.

- There are some graphs explaining happiness, rating, bank balance and so on but nothing that explains the income/spending other tycoon stuff that allows you to efficiently manage staff, building costs, and related information although again I have no doubt there will come due to it being in early access.

Overall in its current state I reccommend it, its cheap, already has many hours of fun available, and has the potential to expand and grow into a great game like the developers other titles. Some coordination between the developers and what the playerbase would like and I can see this becoming a very successful, niche game with a huge range of features.
