I've sunk thousands of hours into this game. It's safe to say I've enjoyed it.
I'm not coming here to give a down vote, just to "stick it to Behavior" like a lot of sore players on this review board. I'm here to give an honest review from the viewpoint of someone who has played both Survivor and Killer for a significant amount of hours.

We'll start with positives. I'd say the game has good variety when it comes to perks (learned skills) and character options. The BHVR team is consistently cranking out new skins and accessories. They also have events frequently, where you can earn double points, or receive freebies daily. All these things combined, it makes for a potentially pretty interesting game, with never ending combinations of ways the game can go, and exciting incentives to keep people playing.

However, if you ever plan to play survivor, it's not worth playing unless you have friends to play with. You can add friends within the in-game lobby, but there is no voice chat or text box. You only have 2 hand gestures you can use to communicate with others, which isn't great (especially when playing with randoms). You'll have a much better time playing with friends over Discord, as the killers in this game tend to be pretty toxic.

If you play as survivor, plan to be tunneled, slugged and camped into oblivion, ESPECIALLY if you have TTv in your name. Create your build around ways to get past some of that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, coordinate with friends and you should be mostly fine. Killers will exclaim that these "techniques" are a reasonable strategies, and that they aren't responsible for your fun, as they cutely regurgitate from their favorite big league streamer of choice.

As a killer, though I am not skilled at chase, I find it incredibly easy to get 4 kills each match, even with killers I've never tried before. If you've ever wanted to try playing as killer, this might be the time for you to get used to some mechanics. Sometimes, you'll come up against "Bully Squads" that will attempt to click their flash light you, taunt, squat, etc. It's all a means to piss you off and keep your attention on them. Avoid survivors that are begging for your attention, and your match will be easier. A survivor who is chasing you around is a survivor not doing their objectives.

Killers tend to whine a lot about med kits. However, if you see a lobby stacked with items, it's as easy as popping on Franklins Demise or Nurses Calling.

There's a lot of complaints from both sides, but BHVR tends to lean towards favoring the killer side. I understand balancing a game like this is nearly impossible. I felt like there was a chance for equality before, but after this most recent patch, I feel like we're much further away from reaching that goal than before. Many of DBD's most popular streamers main killer, and BHVR will typically follow popular streamers opinions, as they are the loudest voice.

Be prepared for a game that caters to the killer side, and make the best of it by adapting. Expect some game glitching, and getting hung up on maps from time to time. Expect a heinous DC penalty even when you're held hostage in a game by hackers, Expect a LOT of hackers, especially if you're a streamer. Expect games that are so high strung that you find yourself arguing with your friends. Over time, you may find yourself uninstalling more than once, But if you like the game and you don't care about winning all the time, these things can usually be enough to look past.
