This game is awesome. The gore system is very detailed
and satisfying. The voice acting is very good and interactive.
Even doing the smallest of things like looking over a
cliff your character will respond and say something.
I really loved the music and it's sound design.
The atmosphere is creepy and scary. They really nailed
the look of Los Angeles. The story was good and humorous.

You can hear screams from distances and footsteps that are
nearby. The sound effects had me looking around corners
being cautious all the time. I actually jumped more than a
few times as a zombie can hide and jump out of all kinds
of things. The guns and melee weapons all feel different
which makes them more fun to use. So you don't feel bored
like you are using the same weapon with a different skin.

You can upgrade and modify any weapon. Even if it's
completely broken you can fix it and keep it forever.
You can also add fire, electricity, zombie parts, acid
effects and more to take them a step further. Guns never
need to be fixed but melee ones need to be only if you are
using them. The game even lets you match any of your
weapons to your current characters level if you don't want
to part with them.

You also get throwable weapons called curveballs like pipe
bombs, stars, molotovs, grenades and more. You can use them
as many times as you want but they do have cooldowns. You
unlock them by finding them in the world or simply by
completing quests. I should note that your main melee
weapons can be thrown as well and you can recover them
wherever they land.

I liked how you can use the environment to your advantage.
Take a battery from a car and throw it in a pool to
electrocute the water or take a gasoline can and make
a puddle out of it and light it on fire. Kick a zombie into
a pool of acid and watch them melt. Lure them into power
lines and more.

Leveling up your character uses a card system which you can
mix and match to what you like. I kind of wished they stuck
with a skill tree instead but it works. I didn't feel like
my character was tough enough until I got cards that had
certain abilities tied to them later in the game. You can
also find cards if you explore the world but I felt they
are not as good as the ones you get by leveling up.

Exploring is fun and going into places gives you a sense
of what happened to the people that were there at the time.
I really loved searching for the unknown. The atmosphere
is so well done you have to at least play it one time in
single player instead of co-op and take your time exploring.
The only minor thing I was disappointed in was I couldn't
drive anything. You can in the first game. Regardless I
love it to gory bits.
