Words can truly not express my feelings when I was playing through this game. It tells its story so well and handles the subject matter it tackles respectfully that I can't express words. But on top of the amazing experience story wise, it also manages to be a very good (if somewhat simple) RPG with plenty of extra side content that, unless you're the meticulous type, you'll very likely miss on your first run, making this game also very replayable, something you can't really say about a ton of games in the same genre.

At $20 this game is an absolute steal and well worth the investment if you enjoy horror games as well as quirky RPG titles. Just be aware of the heavy themes this game has as some of these could potentially bother some people.

Game Dev Tycoon is one of those games that may look sort of boring from an outside perspective (Unless you decide to be a complete memelord on a Let's Play or Livestream) but playing the game is a really satisfying and simple affair that is both equal parts trial and error, and also thought as to what does well.

You'll need to think about what focus you put on each game, trying to think about what sort of aspect works well for what game, for the topic and genre it is. You do it right, and you get the satisfaction of watching those money and fan counters go up. But it's not completely up to you to figure it out, as you play and as you create game reports in game, Game Dev Tycoon will keep notes on what works and what hasn't worked meaning if you have the capital to try again, you can at least make another attempt at it.

The further into the game you get and the more successful you are, the more the game gives you new mechanics, making sure the player at least somewhat has a decent grasp on how the game works before throwing you a bunch of new mechanics and details that you need to manage. Details such as multiple workers, making games that require multiple people working on different aspects, R&D, training to make yourselves better. All of this is unlocked once youve proven to the game you can succeed and as such it makes for a very nice difficulty that is controlled by how the player has been willing to learn.

The game is just really satisfying, and once you get down the basics, its a game that i feel is just a great game to just relax with.

A high recommendation from me.

So i Pre Purchased this pack expecting more Jackbox... well i mean that is what i got, but what I wasn't expecting was just the amount of quality these games all had. This has to be the most quality Party Pack out of the five that i played (The others being 4, 5, 6, and 7) Not a single game was really a meh for me. I can see myself coming back to all of these games.

Drawful Animate

Drawful... only with ANIMATION! Yeah its that simple, its drawful but with 2 frame animations instead of flat pictures. You get a prompt and you have to make a small moving picture based on that prompt. Once everyone finishes drawing, then everyone else has to then make a fake prompt to try and fool the other players and then guess what the real prompt for the drawing was. Good stuff Yeah. It's simple, doesn't go on for too long, and the small animation you get really brings a nice spice up to a familiar game.

The Wheel of Enormous Proportions

A trivia game with a healthy dose of mario party-esque randomness. You answer questions to get wedges and after three rounds of questions you put them on the titular wheel and spin to get points. The catch is the real moneymaker, the wheel spinning, is completely random. You can be doing REALLY well in the question and have a bunch of wedges on the board but the wheel could potentially not land on them at all. It's complete random chance and chaos, making this a trivia game where you can suck at trivia but STILL come out on top if your luck is good enough. Really chaotic and I had a blast playing this with friends

Job Job

The standout game for Party Pack 8 in my opinion anyway. This one had almost nonstop laughter between my friends while we were playing. You start each round by answering prompts with sentences (5 words or more), then those sentences get sent to other players where they have to answer questions using on the words said in those sentences. (Or just from the question and writing prompt haha) This game leads to some random a hell (and very likely nonsensical) responses from every player. I don't know what else to say about this one, it was just pure joy to play.

The Poll Mines

This game splits you into two teams and then for each round will give everyone a survey to answer honestly. Once everyone answers the game then will ask each team (one at a time) to pick a door each represented by a choice from the survey. The goal is to guess which choice came in a certain position depending on what the game asked of you (Example: 1st 2nd, 3rd or 2nd 3rd and 4th) Its a nice team effort that leads to some really intense moments as once you hit the final level your points (Tallied by torches) get taken away for every one you get wrong. The game is another standout of the pack and was a lot of fun to play.

Weapons Drawn

Okay this is the only one that didn't 100% jive with the rest of my team though I wouldn't say its a downright stinker or 'meh' game. You take the role of a murderer/detective and have to draw a murder weapon to murder someone with... the weapon must contain a pre-drawn letter from your own name as a calling card, so the catch is to incorporate the letter into the drawing discreetly. But you also have to guess who murdered someone else and try to figure out THEIR calling card, making this a game of trying to figure out symbols and who drew what. It takes a bit and the rules for winning weren't 100% concise if im honest. But I still had fun trying to figure out who dun-it being a fan of games like Ace Attorney and such.

------------

So overall just about all of these games were fun to play, and I can see myself replaying all of these at some point... at least compared to most of the other party packs. I'd recommend Party Pack 8 to anyone looking for a good time with friends, or anyone who is just a fan of Jackbox in general. Then again you've probably already picked the game up if you're either of those.

SOO I was a bit curious about this game as I heard about it back when it was making the rounds... then it fell out of the limelight somewhat before I got it but it was still a game I was somewhat interested in playing since I heard it was chaotic fun.

Having finally gotten this game over the holiday I can say the term Chaotic fun is a very apt description of Fall Guys Ultimate Knockout. It's a game that yes has some sort of skill ceiling but messing up jumps or getting caught in crowds typically throws a wrench into the mix. It is what you imagine would happen if you threw about 60 contestants into those TV game show obstacle courses. Lots of sabotage, bumping into one another, and people trying to get through the same 4 foot wide door while clearly not being able to all fit through it.

If this chaos sounds appealing and you have friends to play it with, you might just enjoy fall guys and I can say now that you will have a blast if you bring friends along to play with you. (Also since i know some people were asking this, no its not a "dead game" speaking from a logical standpoint. I feel i wouldnt be getting into so many almost full matches if it was. Now... that could change in the future.

Overall... give it a shot if you enjoy the chaotic fun and goofy style. You'll get your money's worth im sure and on top of that Fall Guys is getting constant updates from the developers, meaning if you get the game now you'll have more content to play with as you keep playing. A good recommend from me.

Among us is a very simple game in premise and what you do in it, but its the experiences you make with the game online and/or with friends that make it a strong recommend. Its simple who done it premise in multiplayer where 4-10 players get put in a facility of some kind and are tasked with performing menial tasks, 1-3 of these players (depending on the game's settings) are chosen as imposters and are required to kill every other non imposter while also avoiding getting discovered.

Every time a dead body is discovered or when someone decides to hit that panic button, the group goes to a meeting and will have to discuss who they think did it with deductions or lies depending on which side you're on, ending with a vote to possibly eject someone out of the facility to their death.

It's a game that requires a lot of communication with people to figure out who's out to get you or on the other side, figuring out how to avoid suspicion. But the laughs ive had with my friends the goofy stuff ive witnessed in random play is one of the reasons why this game is so easy to recommend to people. Its also pretty cheap too. The only downside at the time of writing is there have been several sessions where we've had a heck of a time getting into a game due to server issues, although understandable (I dont think Inner Sloth expected this game to blow up as much as it did) still was an issue i faced.

Overall a strong recommend whether with friends or if you just want a fun online experience.

Iconoclasts is a game I always saw floating around on youtube when watching other metroidvania games but never really thought of trying out. Then I saw gameplay of it and was instantly interested, and eventually here we are, game was bought Ive played it fully and my thoughts were very positive. It certainly doesn't feel like most other games of the same genre with more of an emphasis on puzzle solving and boss fights than exploration and upgrades.

The game also does more with the story than ive seen most metroidvanias do, having a constant narrative reason for doing the things you do, and the story and characters are definitely one of this game's strongest aspects in my opinion, giving you a world that gives you enough lore to have you understanding it but leaves you asking questions. The cast itself is certainly something that comes to my mind with the silent but eager hero Robin, to the mysterious yet dweeby Royal. I legit was on the edge of my seat for a lot of the story wondering where it was going to go next.

The gameplay itself is also quite solid, with a lot of puzzle solving mixed in requiring you to think of how you can use your arsenal to progress while also sometimes require you to think quick as well. Combat isn't normally what keeps you going in this game as you don't get too many weapons throughout the course of the game and charge shots require a rather hefty recharge time. However boss fights are where the game really kicks up in terms of gameplay whether they require you to figure out how to expose their weak spot with puzzle solving or are just 1 v 1 reaction tests where you need to dodge using what the game gives you, or use one of your many tweaks that act as pseudo character upgrades to give you an edge in combat and movement. Either way, the boss fights and story was what kept me going in this game as I was constantly wondering what was coming next... not to downplay the stuff in between because every area is interesting to explore (minus one area that I wont spoil here). The bosses and story is the driving force that will keep you going most likely.

Presentation is very solid too, Iconoclasts is a game that takes cues from 16 bit games with vivid colors and crunchy sound design that was popular... though it feels less Super Nintendo and Genesis and more Game Boy Advance if that's wierd to say... tho maybe not since the game had heavy inspirations from Metroid Fusion, either way the game's looks and sounds were amazing and catchy. Characters moved really fluently and despite not being the most detailed sprites in the world I could typically tell exactly how a character was feeling during cutscenes, with music that fits each area very well and makes every boss encounter feel really invigorating.

Overall Iconoclasts is a great game that I'd highly reccomend to anyone who enjoys metroidvanias. The game really has a great feel to it that makes it overall just fun experience. For $20 its more than worth the price in my opinion.

Man this game brought back a lot of nostalgia for me. Now whether the game is the best way to play the original game, that's up in the air. But this a bad game? Not at all. While unlike a lot of other remakes it does reuse a lot of audio from the original rather than redubbing, just about everything else about Spongebob Battle For Bikini Bottom Rehydrated not only feels fresh but also is just as fun as the original game if not hindered by a few technical hiccups here and there.

If you still own and have the ability to play the original game you might want to consider sticking with that game. But if you haven't played the original before or don't have the means to anymore (Yay for limited backwards compatibility) This is a game you should definitely pickup as Rehydrated not only manages to be a great licensed game, but a decent platformer as well with some great level design, great dialogue for fans of spongebob or just witty dialogue in general, plenty of collectibles to keep you busy.

This is a game that, whether it lives up to the original or not, still feels worth playing if you were a fan of the original or are a fan of Spongebob in general.

This is a game I've had my eye on for quite awhile before i bought it. Once I was able to get a PC able to run it, i jumped on the chance to buy it and I have to say, money well spent. Though Planet Coaster isn't a complete 100% love-letter to RCT fans, specifically the first two.

The Game picks up in terms of style and gameplay where the third game left off giving you a free 3D camera and able to control where you're looking. However unlike the 3rd game nothing is completely grid based in Planet Coaster, leading for more in depth building of rides and coasters when it comes down to it. It may seem a bit daunting at fist but i can promise you will get used to it if you give it some time. However the biggest point on whether this game will keep your attention involves how creative you are as the game encourages the player to be as creative as possible when making rides, shops, and even just plain walkways. You can leave these plain, but you'll get a lot of complaining guests on how boring they are which if youre playing challenge or career mode will result in less sales.

If you don't have the mind for this creativity then this game is going to be really tough to sell you on as you'll need it if you want to make parks that people in the game enjoy. If you have that creativity then this is the next gen park building game you've been waiting for. It'll just take some time to get used to with the grid system being gone. Its an overall solid title that takes what Roller Coaster Tycoon 3, a game developed by the same developer, did previously and builds upon it in a way that make this feel like a next gen step up.

Here we have a game that ain't exactly perfect but certainly has enough fun to keep you entertained if you're willing to make that purchase. "Dust and Elysian Tail" is a enjoyable 2D hack and slash action RPG that looks and plays amazingly. You'll be just amazed on how fluid this game is and how much damage you'll be able to rack up as the game goes on and you start to make Dust more powerful. It can be quite the spectacle that fits in with a lot of other bigger names in the action Genre.

It's failings however come with the story, as you go through a quite cliche and uninspired tale of this skilled warrior with amnesia trying to find out "Who He is" and typically this type of simple done story is fine as long as they don't play it too straight, Dust however plays its story very straight with the only bouts of humor being in the sidequests and small ramblings of his nimbat partner Fidget. This makes the story kinda disappointing and a low point of the game, though if you don't care about story this won't be too much of a deal breaker.

Small spoiler warning here.

The other major problem lies in a major difficulty spike towards the end of the adventure that expects that you've done a lot when you might have merely been playing through the game just trying to enjoy the story without going through the motions of equipping items and gear and not doing too many sidequests or grinding levels. This sort of comes out of nowhere with no prior warning which might turn off new players.

Overall while not a complete 100% example of indie game quality in every area, Dust an Elysian Tail will manage to keep those looking for a beautiful stylish 2D game, just don't go in expecting to get super engrossed by the story.

Terraria is a game that has a lot of charm to it. Its a 2D sort of open world sort of game similar to Symphony of the Night or Metroid, but it takes a very heavy rogue-like element with a randomly generated world, meaning every game you play is potentially going to be slightly different. Overall i'd say what this game has over Minecraft, which is a game its often compared to for the mining and crafting element (HAH) is that it has a much better structure. You're given a much better idea without a trip to the wiki or play guide for most things (not all things mind you) and you'll find yourself progressing a lot easier than in MC. Overall if you enjoy the random element of Minecraft but feel it could've done with a bit more structure, Terraria is a game you'll likely come to enjoy.
