If you'd like to leave an angry remark about a match, the complaints department can be found below, at the bottom! I'll probably end up deleting it to keep people I like more than you on my first page though. I just like seeing what you had to say

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

KCD2 is a 9/10 and easily my first consideration for '25 GOTY

I’m not usually a big RPG player—open worlds packed with endless stat sheets and fetch quests tend to lose me. But Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 hooked me in a way few games ever have. The level of immersion, combined with a compelling historical setting and a deeply reactive story makes for an unforgettable experience.

The game’s biggest strength lies in its attention to detail. Much like Red Dead Redemption 2, the world feels alive—towns bustle with traders and gossiping townsfolk, roads are filled with bandits, travelers, and unexpected encounters that make every journey feel unique. On one trip, I stopped to listen to two dudes quarrel over a dead cow, only for it to turn to a fully fledged side quest complete with cutscenes, to "face the gates of Hell". Another time, I stumbled into a drunken brawl in a tavern that escalated into a full-blown street fight. These moments feel organic, never scripted, adding to the realism.

But what truly sets KCD2 apart is how your choices ripple through the world. A city burned down in my playthrough due to a decision I made—yet on a friend’s map, that same city remained standing, with entirely different events unfolding. The branching narrative and meaningful dialogue choices give real weight to your actions, making you feel like an active participant in history rather than just a player following a script.

The skill system is another standout. Instead of just dumping points into a menu, you improve by doing. Want to get better at sneaking? Crouch around at night and practice lockpicking. Need to improve agility? Engage in more combat or play dice. Dying a lot? Level Alchemy and brew strong Chamomile Decoctions. Every action feeds into your growth, making progression feel natural and earned.

Of course, it’s not without its flaws—some animations and movements feel stiff, especially in combat related control, and a few AI quirks break the immersion from time to time. But overall, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is one of the most immersive and rewarding experiences I’ve played. Even as someone who doesn’t usually gravitate toward RPGs, I couldn’t put it down. As of this 100-hour review, I purchased the Expansion Pass for the future content. If you love Red Dead Redemption 2’s organic world-building and want a historical RPG where every decision matters, this is an absolute must-play.
