This hot mess is not even worth the 3 bucks.
You might think you want those BF6 rewards but prepare for hours of awfully dull matches.
Reconsider and get a cup of coffee instead, you'll find more enjoyment anywhere else.

I wanted to give this game a fair chance but I have never had such infuriating technical issues with a game in recent memory.

The game softlocked twice during the tutorial, forcing me to restart from checkpoints.
I fell through the elevator in the first mission and had to restart from checkpoint as well.
At some point my AI companion decided to bug out and just crouch spammed and fired at Nids like a CSGO spinbot.
Initial loading times were painfully long, taking multiple minutes on a modern m.2 to reach the main menu.
In the main menu, the game for some reason is reading files from my SSD at 125 MB/s, dropping to 30 MB/s once the loading screen begins.
The most frustrating issue is the extended 30 to 45 second freeze when tabbing back in, making co-op and PvP play nearly impossible.

It's unfortunately a technical mess and an exercise in frustration.
I might give this another shot once they resolved these issues (most importantly the tabbing issue as it's just infuriating) but as it currently stands I regret buying this.

The vast majority of the initial negative reviews complain about the server issues which have been mostly addressed a week after launch.
The game itself is very pretty and solid, I especially like the idea of dungeons being randomly assembled and players having the ability to pick which twist they want in that dungeon.
The characters I've tried so far all feel very different but equally useful, however it's probably best if you stick to a single character while going through the story at first as they have their individual leveling.
On the other hand, there are no weapon restrictions and any character can use any gun, although weapon variety is a bit lacking at the moment. (Around 17 weapons or so, they confirmed that they will add more in the future)
I genuinely hope that people who gave this a thumbs down on release give it another try.

Be wary, buying this game (or downloading via EA Play) now will not give you access to anything since the game asks for a CD-Key, which EA removed a couple of days ago.
You can check SteamDB for that, since there was an exploit that would allow users to just take the CD-Key and redeem on origin, where they would own the game instead of just having time limited access.
However in their sorry attempt at fixing this they essentially broke the game for all new users and made it unplayable.

All in all, good job EA, didn't expect anything else from you :)

If you look for an arena shooter without all the lootbox, classes and health ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, go play Quake Live.

Sadly it's a wasted opportunity.
They could have done so much with this, instead you get a "sandbox" game where your real goal is to just find the secrets. (Because they are the only fun thing in this)

Performance wise this game runs p*sspoor, spawning a few goats tanks the framerate and when you have the goat spawning ability and try to play that flappy bird clone, your fps dips to <10. Even on a titan this game brutally muders the framerate. But apart from horrendous performance problems... you don't have much to do.
It gets boring after 30 minutes.... yeah you heard me right, I said 30 minutes, that's the time it took me to complete most of the "quests".
Most of my game times just comes from sticking my tongue into the harvester (being afk) just to rack up some points for the last quest.

After that, well... there's the workshop.... but as of now, this game is barely worth it's price.
I suggest you pick it up in a sale for 2-3 bucks.

The idea was good... but the joke wasn't that funny after all.
Sorry Coffeestain, as much as I loved Sanctum, this one is a real downer.
