If I knew buying this would mean having my money invalidated, I wouldn't have gotten invested into the franchise.
Thank you SEGA for ruining these games for me.

The "upgrade", if you can even call it that, could have just been a simple Steam Beta pipeline instead of a whole ass separate game

Yakuza Zero is an absolute hood classic and I recommend you play it.
Though, I have VERY large problems with the game
1. Saving is very inconsistent, and you can corrupt your save file if the game doesn't show the "Save Complete" text and then you leave after selecting a slot.
2. Again, with corruption, you can obtain items you're not meant to get in your Inventory, Weapon Inventory and Accessory Inventory like Pocket Racing Parts, and you're NOT able to put them in your item box, which duplicates them.
3. Yakuza Kiwami and onwards have Saving directly in the pause screen. Why couldn't we get that backported to Y0?
4. Selecting the Legend styles for Kiryu and Majima is overcomplicated for no reason. Just backport it YKiwami and make it so selecting the same style again takes out your weapon of choice.

ULTRAKILL: One Hell of a ride
Short historic & upfront review:
Unlike the others, I found out about ULTRAKILL through Vittorio D'Amore's projects: MASTER BOOT RECORD & KEYGEN CHURCH, and I've been obsessed since. The story and lore, the snappy and stylish gameplay, the art style and music, the level design, the funny easter eggs, intended bugs (like the Pipe & Updoor); they've all contributed to the amazing time I've had with this game. My biggest gripe with it is the lack of expansive sound settings and player/UI customization without BepInEX-based Mods which would be a godsent, as well as lacking features in the CYBERGRIND such as song skipping & selection menu during waves, album cover for custom songs, separate playlists and more.

Wonky gameplay, camera, driving, bad default keybinds and a pretty meh story. Gave up on it half an hour in just because of how bad the gameplay is. I don't recommend it because it's a hairpulling process to rebind everything to something remotely comfortable. I know it's an old game but there's many games WAY better than this that are older.

Just play the Grand Theft Auto series.
