The $29.99 price tag is a bit high for some, but this game is constantly being worked on and updated unlike many games that are out there, and the modding community is absolutely brilliant with tons of variety so you can customize gameplay to your hearts content. The base content has a great soundtrack, varied biomes, and unique creatures to each one, many of which you can tame and help you fight and haul stuff, and even get resources from. Rimworld is definitely worth checking out, as there is nothing quite like this game out there, and I would recommend this game even while it is still in the process of being updated and transformed into a finished product.
