I'm less inclined to suggest this game. I think the matchmaking needs an overhaul so casual or new players don't get thrown against veteran players who just dominate the maps. Literally tried this game for season 2 after a slight break from season 1 and got utterly crushed every game I played with some friends by people who didn't even appear to be trying just one shotting everyone without needing to break a sweat aiming. I can't tell if this is because of a matchmaking algorithm issue or because there are just not enough new/casual players staying in this game, as they quit because they just ran into the same experience I had.

I think the developers care more about getting people who really enjoy crushing people in the game that spend time and more importantly money playing, to spend more money on the skins for items than actually making a game that will be played for a long term with balance. Ultimately I think this game is going to turn into small tournament style play with people who spend so much time on the game with newbies or casuals just playing something else (the demographic will start to gravitate even more so to those who stayed, setting up new skins to spend money on instead of trying to get new
ways and mechanics to get new players into the community).

If they don't fix the balancing issues in matchmaking (if it isn't already skewed because people are starting to be turned off of the game now) this game will never evolve and get better. That being said this is from a casual player who also enjoys other games and doesn't have the same kind of time and money to solely dedicate to this specific game. So maybe this is biased because I am clearly not part of the developers target audience for this game.

So I just beat this game. It gave me a blast to the past in its visual style and some of its play style. Made me remember some of my childhood and seemed very much like Jak and Daxter and those other style games. It's crafting system is diverse, you can find really cool weapons in the game. There is a lot to explore and a lot of choice to be good and dark and how you mutate.
I would say the downside to this game is the narrator and the animal languages being too long winded (thankfully they introduced a patch to turn it off or reduce the talking time which really solved this problem). I also noticed the melee combat is a bit lack luster in comparison to the ranged combat.
I think if the developer uses the things they did really well here and adjust some of the other content that was lacking their next game is going to be amazing and I will look forward to that.

You have to be stupid not to like this game. Or at least really detest farming simulators....

This game has been a godsend for me.

This is a game that has enabled me to be creative in almost every way. Playing through the alpha I got to witness the changes that happened that made this game so much more than just a theme park builder.

Starting out with just the ability to build structures and moving through terrain building and rollercoaster building I can say that this will be one of my top games since RCT3 came out 12 years ago.

I have been waiting a long time for this and I am so glad I've had the opportunity to play the alpha and beta of this game!

I can't wait to unleash the limitless hours into this game like I used to with RCT3!

The community has also made it such a massive experience and there is a definite effort made by everyone to help each other out and produce more innovation with the tools we have been given!

Early Access Review
I feel like this early access release was a valiant effort on Atari's part to fix all the problems that were definitely evident in the first beta. However as I have come to play this early access now, some of the problems within the coaster design and potential layout of an entire theme park have almost become worse.

In the first beta of this game I knew the coaster builder needed quite a bit of work done, I did slowly start to get used to parts of it while I was building and managed to get a few functioning coasters going in my park. This new release of the coaster builder places a very opaque sphere where your cursor is to build the next piece, but it is very hard to adjust and manover the placements. It also becomes very jumpy when trying to edit previously added parts to the coaster. Also there is no way to turn it off if you just want to go by segments which I felt was a good addition they said they were going to add in. I would be much happier if I had a button to manually jump between the two, ironically it would make building a coaster much more seamless.

The other big issue I have is that we no longer have the options to place entrances and exits, I'm not sure if this will be adjusted before release but it removes a degree of customization out of theme park building which we have always had in the RCT series.

I also find the pathing system a little too jumpy. Even the old RCT 1 and RCT 2 pathing was better.

The benefit to the game that I find is finally the implementation of buildings for mechanics and janitors, instead of just dropping them in the game like the old days.

It will be interesting to see how much they need to radically change when they exit out of this early access program. I may pop on occasionally over the next little while to see if they take in anymore of what the community is describing as flaws to the game. And if they are successful, I could definitely see myself spending a good amount of time on this game much like my oodles of time spent on the previous games and change this review to a positive.

I guess time will tell.

Early Access Review
I have played this like 2 weeks after they started sending out keys. First of all I want to say that the game has come a long way from where it was and I'm super excited to see what will be coming in the future for it.

If you have played don't starve before and liked it, play the multiplayer. If you haven't, play the multiplayer.
I dedicated many hours to playing Don't starve and I feel like the same experience is available in this mode. The developers are very dedicated to delivering a game that will be top notch, with all the effort they put into livestreaming and explaining where they are at and the amount of effort they put into telling people on the forums.
It really shows to me that the developers want this game to be as awesome as possible for the die hard fans that have been with don't starve for a long time, yet maintain an experience for new players to not be so overwelmed...

So well done klei so far!

Here we are in the thralls of a questionable time in life. Wondering what will happen with the state of the world. This game provided me with the opportunity to let loose over the years, experience something that is hard to replicate. I come back to this game occasionally on stints that tend to span a few days.

Every time I do it allows me to feel refreshed about the world. And yet here we are reviewing a prison management simulation game.

I think that in of itself is enough for anyone to buy and play this game. I know I will be for years and years to come.

I feel like if you are a fan of Lord of the Rings, you will love this for the storyline. I feel like I am about to spend countless hours on this game and never tire.

That is the definition of an amazing game.
