Very much a love it or hate it, reviews make it obvious lol.
I love it tho. And appreciate them going for something different, most racing games feel like the same boring thing nowadays.

When it works, it can be very fun, and I enjoyed the half an hour it worked properly.
The other half of it was crashes, stutters, suicidal AI, a music slider that does not work, physics that will not allow you to catch a slide or catapult you on the smallest boulder, and the most nitpicky of them all but still annoying, the distance counter going up at a much faster rate than the speed of the vehicle. The game pumps up kilometers as if you're going 900km/h when the speedometer says 150km/h.
I wanted it to be good, and I hope with future updates it gets there, there is a lot of potential underneath. But in it's current state I can not recommend it I'm afraid, sorry.

TLDR: If you REALLY want to play, wait for sale on the BASE game. Worthiness of anything more is very questionable.

I feel like Milestone have always been a company that had brilliant games on paper, but always delivered with deal breaking flaw(or multiple). Allow me to explain.
I love this game. I really do. It's a fun brake-to-drift arcade racer with cool locations and plenty cars (which are bloody difficult to scroll through and the filter is more or less useless), each of which you can paint with a very enjoyable livery editor, and speaking of editors, you get to build your own tracks! What's not to love?! Well....there's where my so called deal breakers begin.
Starting with the track builder. Takes a bit of getting used to but pretty fun to mess around with once you get the hang of it. But then you start wondering, why? Why am I building this track that I will not be able to race on whatsoever! The only chance for you to drive on it, at least as far as I'm aware, is to either do solo time trials OR you may be lucky and get to race it online (where tracks are voted at random by the way). Not to mention multiplayer seems rather dead, and there's people like me who don't even want to play online.
Not only is that dead on stupid, not being able to race on your own tracks with AI, it makes every expansion track building module absolutely worthless. Especially as there's no new tracks being added to showcase those modules.
And as if that wasn't a bad enough money grab, this game has seasons. AKA battle pass like system. In a full priced game. And to make matters even worse (oh yeah, it still goes deeper), there is no way to unlock the content in the racing season unless you level up yourself, playing for many hours, repeating the same races because there's no new ones added, if you don't make it to level 50 by the time the season ends, tough luck, that content is gone. There is no way to speed up the process either.

With all that said, as much as it pains me to say this next bit, with the excitement I had for this game and the potential it had, I can not give it a positive review. Mainly because of the track builder and new modules being useless for those who don't want to race online, and there's only so many times the base tracks can be played before becoming boring. Seriously, just let us race on custom made tracks and I will gladly change it to a positive review, despite the money grab system. Until then, as said at the TLDR section, just wait for a sale and even then, unless there's specific content you really want, don't bother getting anything more than the base game.

Oh and PS, do yourself a favour and disable in game music, it's generic royalty free music you hear all over youtube. Not sure for the races themselves as I couldn't bare it even that far.

Simply said, this game is like a woman.

- Countless hours of fun and enjoyment
- Gonna take advantage of every little mistake you make and make all hell break loose upon you
