Great game yes, I've even spent many attempts cloning my own F2P version in Java.

Hello fellow animators/artists.

Here's my review as to why I love source filmmaker, however Valve earning my negative review.

[PROS]

-Powerful
-Fun(See cons)
-A whole community's worth of custom assets and maps you yourself can animate in SFM.
-Easy to understand UI and easily learnable marcos.
-Great for short films, posters, or just achieving something in SFM you were unable to produce in Gmod(Which is also something I recommend for artists such as I.
-Incredible detail and easy to understand lighting.
-Easy to use motion editor(Thank god)
-Good graphics for something created in its time.

[CONS!]

To be frank,

-Constant crashing when loading assets.
-Latest version not supported on windows(I think its a Visual C++ runtime thing since SFM is 32-bit.
-Importing custom models, materials, particles, and textures can be a pain, Gmod has its own plethora of resultant issues when trying to import assets from custom addons.
-Requires the use of RISKY 3rd party software with many security issues to be able to export in .mp4 as well as higher resolutions in a timely manner.(DO NOT USE THE BUILT IN AVI EXPORT)
-Current runnable latest version available in the betas is: 0.9.7.8


[CONCLUSION/TLDR]

If you have time, and a lot of it, as well as the patience to ♥♥♥♥ around with finnicky software as well as the resulting problems that arise while using this tool, Congratulations you have just dumped 8k hours into making saaxy award winning SFMs.

SFM is great, I'd reccomend it to anyone who's trying to go on past Gmod animating and stitching individual screenshots together. Not going to reccomend due to instability and a lack of updates and fixes for later versions of windows.
