Amazing little toy to play around with!

Don't buy this if you think this is a game, it's a city builder sandbox with a cyberpunk aesthetic. For its price and seeing the development roadmap, this is a great product! First "non game" I've played and loved every second of it.

Early Access Review
This game is a gem. Instead of being a Cities: Skylines clone with a socialist theme, it instead takes mechanics from the likes of Factorio and puts it into a city builder, and it actually makes sense. You can make your towns and/or cities look good, but what matters most is if they're functional or not. You need to produce and deliver goods, extract resources, etc.

Premise:
You are put in charge of a planned economy, socialist, 25x25km backwater state, and it is your job to turn it into a self-sufficient, Marxist-Leninist utopia.

Gameplay:
It's better if I give an example:
Let's say you want to build an oil refinery to make fuel. To build it you'll need resources, and for those you need a construction industry set up (If you don't have those, you can import resources and foreign labor but it'll cost you a lot). Now that you have a refinery you'll need oil, and you get it with oil drills. To transport that oil, you'll need pipes, and for those you'll need pumps (if too far away), and depending on how far you oil drills are, you'll need trains or trucks to be more efficient. All that requires power, which needs a power plant, and that power plant has its own production chain.

The tutorials give you a good grasp of the basic systems in place, but you'll have to figure it out by trial and error how to perfect them.

Graphics:
They get the job done. Not good, not bad. It has a good artstyle, so the graphics won't "age" like in other titles.

Workshop support:
My latest republic (what maps are called) has fully green energy. Without mods, this would've been extremely hard to pull off, cause in the vanilla game there are only nuclear plants (hard production chain), wind turbines and solar power (unreliable). I installed some hydroelectric and geothermal plants into the game and now it's possible to use 100% green power. Beware that there are OP mods as well, such as infinite resource miners and such.

Conclusion:
This game is insanely fun. It doesn't have any political biases or anything of the sort, it's just a fun, addicting, extremely well thought out game. The devs put a lot of love into it and it shows.

Sidenote:
As a socialist myself, I'm very biased toward any socialist games or games with socialism in them, but this one is the only one that truly shows how a planned economy works. Even if you're not a leftist like myself, I strongly recommend this game to anyone who is interested in economics and/or history.

Cheers, and don't forget your drink, comrade.

Early Access Review
Overall, for an early access title, it shows lots of potential to grow. The tutorials are terrible, but there's already a guide on steam for you to follow, and the game itself isn't hard in any way (just grind money for 20 minutes and upgrade). The gameplay is pretty fun, though unfortunately it lacks in variety (totally understandable for an Early Access game btw). The cash you earn does not scale with your need to spend it on upgrades and the upgrades are "ok" at best for now, so I'm relieved that there'll be lots of stuff added in the future.

Most of you will buy it because it has this weird thing in it: WOMEN. The girls are pretty cute and have very exaggerated personalities, which is not a bad thing.

Elf is like "bruh I need the D"
Harpy is literally like everyone buying this game (depressed and bored)
The Tiger Girl is just annoying (my favorite lol)
More characters are being developed, so that's neat.

I don't know how to explain why I bought this, but it is what it is

08/10 - Amazing animation work, bad UI, has lots of potential, Harpy girl is literally me.

Please only buy this if you are of age. Addiction to this kind of stuff is horrible, specially if you're a minor.

Even though this game had a ton of potential and the developer's talent was not even close to being shown, Łukasz Jakowski (the developer) abandoned his creation without any bug fixes or changes to any system. Instead of being a great game, Age of History 2 is a sad story of how a developer wanted more money out of a beaten corpse:

There were promises of:
- Religions
- Better colonization
- Better and more important Holy Roman Empire system
- Better coring and population growth systems
- BUGFIXES
- A lot more flavor and uniqueness to nations

And a while back, during the pandemic, Łukasz just decided to change the name and trick people into thinking that this is a brand-new game. No, it isn't. If you buy this, you are supporting a lazy developer that does not care about his fanbase.

This game is only decent for phones because there is no competition. On PC? Buy Europa Universalis IV.

The "modding" community for this game can't fix any bugs or add other system easily, if at all, because this game is made in Java and the developer has not released any source code, so people are limited to making newer/bigger maps and different scenarios with a somewhat lacking event maker. This is the worst game to modify I've ever seen, and I can say that because I program in Java and have tried my best to do stuff with AoH2.

You should be ashamed of yourself, Łukasz.

1 - Runs smooth as hell
2 - Really challenging
3 - The game time starts in the 90's (bonus points for style)
4 - Incredibly immersive (I can feel the fear in my character when the panic icon shows up)

Overall, an 8/10, and would be a 10 if beta 41 had multiplayer.

EDIT: 10/10 now it has multiplayer

A bunch of weird people play this game because it's a platform for their extremist beliefs

Why do I play?
To kick their asses.

(9/10 would be better with more optimizations)

Many hours played and still playing. This is one of my favorite games (you can tell by my profile pic). Buy it and the DLCs if you can.

Gameplay : 9/10 Amazing.
Graphics : 6/10 Not really an issue. There are graphic improving mods such as SVE and Scatterer.
Performance : 7/10 It lags with big ships if you have smaller amounts of RAM. You'll also need a beefy PC if you want to build interplanetary ships.
