Honestly I was just about to give a thumbs down but I changed my mind after getting my last 2 endings. Namely Secret "Hey" ending and the "New Ending" .

This game reminds me of the Flash plant-growing games of the 2010s where you had a set of tools which grew the plant in a different way depending on the order they were applied. Fatum Betula in an experience like that, you just find new liquids to feed your plant.

The whole process felt tedious, partly because I had to hold down Shift all the time, partly because I discovered the save menu too late into the game (make yourself a favor and use F5). Especially if you're trying to discover everything by yourself, which I ended up following a guide. I don't regret using the guide as I found most of the endings boring. You might be satisfied with the game if you're into this kind of secret-hunting games.

The reason for my recommendation aside from the last two endings is how it looks. Definitely one of the best modern PS1 aesthetic games ever made. If you're into cool looking walking sims you might be satisfied again... Otherwise I really can't recommend it.

She is beyond fixing.

Technically much better than the first one with a great improvement on visuals. However it's kinda lacking in terms of "vibes" and most things are left for interpretation again.

A great game in the making. I especially love the details, immersive sim-like traversal and the artstyle

Unlike the first game, this is a business focused one. Which means:
-Shutting down the server but forcing people to stay online for the EA launcher
-Lacking both the story and art direction of the original
-Boring architecture
-Having to decide between skills of parkour or fighting
-Open world collectathon
-Probably the dullest open world you'll ever see
-Side quests are plain bad... And I have finished all of them
-Bugged game engine which looks blurry without reshades
-Forced DoF, who would even want to see the environment?
-Bigger focus on combat
-Bugged achievements

As you can see from the other reviews, this is a Sekiro boss rush with anime girls.
The devs did a good job at recreating the combat. My only issue was that it felt kinda slow (anime-girlified Genichiro fight takes longer than the original) and strictly turn-based. Some of the fights were pretty good, especially the dual wielding one.

Would love to see more.

A Xbox360 classic where you are a prisoner being used as a platformer death-game theater actor by the cats who own the island. The narrator and cutscenes are cleverly written and still makes me laugh at this age. Also pretty goood to play with friends, propably the best co-op platformer ever. Deserves separate Oscars for the best Narrator, Directing of cutscenes and the Musical score.

He died for our sins.

Not as good as people make it to be, but an enjoyable ride nevertheless.

I'll only recommend Nier Automata if you are determined to get the full experience up to Ending E. Otherwise don't bother.

The first route (run) is only half of the game... And you'll have to redo that first half without much change to unlock the rest of the story with a third route... I don't think that was a good idea. The game itself proves that the second route could be fused with the first one. Also try to do the side quests as much as you can, they are better than the main quests for the most part with better atmosphere setting.

Speaking about design choices... Nier gameplay sucks. Everything is tedious and feels like a chore. Combat is dull and pods have an unnecessary amount of focus.

However there are some highlights. Nier is also a semi-meta game. Don't expect anything like Stanley Parable but there are some nice bits... which is the reason why this game is praised this much. Along with the deep lore coming from Drakengard and the awesome OST sung on "Chaos Language".

As you can see from the other reviews, the game is really good. Everything is extraordinary; visuals, music, details, game design... you name it. It's definitely an impressive game and gets even more impressive after you realize that this is a single man passion project.

However that won't be my main point in this review. The reason of my obsession with this game is that it has something unique which you'll understand after playing. I don't want to spoil it :)

Also don't be sad that it's short (2h normally, 4h to %100), be happy that we'll be getting a sequel! Keep an eye out for Fragmented City:

Muse Dash with extra steps. Extremely addicting, I come back every few weeks to toy with the final boss.
After almost 90 hours I became able to Mikiri counter handshakes irl and catch flies with my bare hands. I can even no hit the final endgame boss with sword only after finding the game unfair for the first few hours. Can I finally rest now? I don't want to categorize irl movements as slash or thrust anymore ;-;

This game was made for the OG xbox with 64 mb of ram, this causes some problems with the modern systems. It took me 3 years to figure out how to get past the black screen. Thanks to the fanbase every problem has a solution, sometimes you just gotta look harder. Here's how I fixed my black screen:
Assuming you're already installed the Visible Upgrade and still getting the black screen.
-Wait until the game stops responding
-Pull up the task manager, choose the task that stopped responding. You might need to open the dropdown menu
-Choose the unresponsive process and right click, choose "Go to details"
-Right click on the unresponsive process again and choose "Analyze wait chain"
-You'll now see what was causing the black screen. Either disable it from your pc for a while or just kill it from the window you're seeing. In my case it was RadeonSoftware.
-Voila, enjoy the game!

And for the review...
IW is much shorter than DX, around 10 hours on my final save. Longer with all those experiments and reloads tho.
Smaller maps sucks. Every time you switch a map the game shuts down itself and reopens with the new map. However this is not a concern since any decent PC can load a 64mb map in like 5 seconds. You should disable steam stuff so your friends won't get a notification every 15 minutes.
The gameplay is simplified, easier and kinda forces you for combat. Stealth is pretty hard if you don't build for it IMO.
However the new combat is good, much better than DX. Universal ammo is cool, same with the new biomod system. You don't spend time organizing your inventory since they don't use slots.
The hub worlds are pretty cool and realistic.
You can side with factions earlier. There seems to be more choices and results this time.
The story didn't unfolded the way I wanted but it was still pretty good. Not as good as DX but much better than Human Revolution and Mankind Divided.
And for the finale... The NG Resonance music SLAPS! She's modelled after and voiced by the lead of Kidneythieves, an actual industrial rock band. Her music instantly makes every pub area top tier. I think I'll keep listening to them for a while.
