I often find myself fascinated by the storytelling in video games and complex characters. No matter how fun game is I always crave more. Games like Fallout or other RPG games may fill the void but often leave things unfinished or present quite shallow look of humanity and it's residents, which lead to many hilarious memes, but inability to manifest self to the universe and problems of ordinary men. A lot of those games spark a lot of fanfiction, fanart or headcanons created by fans that want to satisfy their hunger and make characters more relatable.
Some however can reach so far in, you almost feel like they can read your memories, soul and mind.
One of those games is definitely Disco Elysium
The Art directed by Aleksander Rostov in this game is phenomenal. Every character you speak to have their own portrait in contemporary style, that feels like has been painted in oil, which is definitely deliberate choice due to specialization of Mr. Rostov. The entire scenery and city of Revachol resembles this entire feeling of derealization and the 19th century oil painting, with a spin of machinery and modern takes. The colour pallette is really delicate and never hurts the viewer's eyes, with locations having fitting set of colours. What I'm basically trying to say is that art is just f*cking amazing in this game and I don't know how to express it without being a jerk, it's just stunning.
Music performed mostly by British Sea Power and their tracks remixed into soundtrack are either gonna stuck in your head for ages or leave absolutely indifferent is still great and fitting of the game's atmosphere. It's not 10/10 soundtrack, however it's very moody and fitting for entire game and I wouldn't change it.
But what about the game itself?
You're given in beginning choice of 3 archetype (absolutely borderline) detectives. You can as well choose by yourself create the character, which I personally highly recommend. You can't fail at this game (unless you put everything to 1 and even then I predict u can beat game), so choosing personality that fits you the best is personally best choice. You are given choice from Intellect, Psyche, Physique and Motorics. Like in RPG's you get to prioritize, which area interests you the most and in which one you will be absolutely dogsh*t. Every single aspect holds 6 skills, making it overall 24 unique personality traits, that will manifest through your gameplay. It might take a bit of the read to familiarize yourself, so either give yourself time or just go with your gut and choose what speaks to you the most (this is not a bad way of choosing, don't worry about your build not being "OP").
And then
You start
You are not some super cop. You are not the Punisher. You wake up from the psychologically ruining dream with your own limbic system and reptilian brain, induced by the heaviest drunken bender known to man. With no clothes whatsoever, just bottles around you and the biggest headache ever you start. You don't remember your name, you don't even remember how you look.
You are nobody
But through those white and pale as the moon sheets, start slipping the reality and humanity of your character in a ways you decided to portray him. So I lied. The skills do matter! But not in a way you expect them to matter. They matter only through which way you explore self, the city and the citizens of it. Either you will be walking encyclopedia with facts and brute force that can recognize all types of drugs your friend in 70s mixed in that one night in the club, or a very fragile emotional man with skills able to perceive the singular solar lights and specks of dust. Your weakness is your strength and your strength is your weakness.
Quickly you realize you are where you are, is because you were sent for investigation of a dead body, that has been hanging already for a week, because of your own incompetence. You tag along the precinct's 57 best - Kim Kitsuragi, who clearly is annoyed by your absolute bender, however through time and story progression you will be able not only solve the hanging, but also solve who are you. You will be able to help other people and get a glimpse of their world through coversations and choices you make, which might be easier or harder depending on who you are as a person and what your own convictions are. You may vary not only in your personality traits, but also your political alignment and the way of life you hold - from being a homeless art connoisseur to deranged beyond apprehension "Supercop". Not only that, but through exploration of the world you will gain ability to form and think about complex ideas that take time, that will grant you additonal stats and even dialogue options from race theory and communist ideology to underground homosexual gang and suicidal thoughts that make your character consider ending it all everyday at night. It is really replayable game, but in my opinion it matters to play as YOU
Who are you?
Despite the massive flexibilty in personality you show as main character, you still have a past. You still had a life. Something that led you to be you. Something that made you become the mess you are. And all this, can be very personal to anyone who went through rough situation. You don't need to be a main character to relate to the pain of the person you're taking control of. Something went wrong even despite you tried to make it all right, and you lost. You lost yourselves to this world, to those thoughts. The depressive nature of main character touched me deeply. Most of people have had at least for some temporary time depression and suicidal thoughts. Everyone experienced mental breakdown and anxiety. So it's no wonder that character that embodies those feelings, that is going through the worst of the worst, is the most personal experience I ever had in a game. A lot of people complained that no matter their choices, they always had "failure", but in the eyes of clinically depressed anything is a failure. Feelings of worthlessness are unavoidable and self-hatred follows through, that even your own traits turn against you and ridicule you or fight against each other. You are destined to fail from the start. This is what depression does to you. All odds against you. You WILL fail even if you do your best. So why not end it all now?
For many people this is daily struggle and it used to be mine. Sometimes it slips through the creeks and pulls me again to the bottom but I still climb back. And that's what you do in this game. No matter what happens you still pull through. You still try to make a difference. Despite you being broken, you still want to help and fix other people. It is not the fact that your character is a "loser". It is a fact you are human. Despite all of this you are capable of fixing things and pulling yourself together, even if it's just for few minutes. And this is all that matters. It is not the game about the clinically depressed alcoholic, it's a game about someone who still has hope, who still can change. And that struggle and effort was a real story for me. Trying to help others, still making friends and amends while fighting the demons inside you.
And it made me cry. For long time I held in high regard psychological games or ones that touch deeper problems inside of character. There have been only 2 games like that for me. And this is third. Hopefully I will be able to find more games like that, but currently I believe this game is most important piece of art that has came out in last decade. I hope more people will experience it even if they don't like games, as it's one of the most important stories told especially during our times and I would like to end this review/personal experience with the quote that touched me the most -
"I'm glad to be me - an incredibly sensitive instrument".

From the start I'm going to say this game is amazing. It has some pacing issues there and there, but overall the experience and enjoyment where so high during my 200+ hours of gameplay I would never not reccomend this silly series. However if you plan playing it, get ready to disappear from one to three weeks from life.
Furthermore,
I beat Yakuza 0, but at what cost?

This game literally has everything to offer. From the gangster story to playing shogi and then pretending to be someone's boyfriend, this game feels like ADHD incarnate. Bored of beating ass? Sing karaoke. Tired of karaoke? Run real estate. The amount of activities I could just f*cking do is so enourmous I lost myself in this game for so long. My favourite activities may or not may be in it:
  • Smashing people's heads with motorcycle
  • Spending 5 days straight on leveling every hostess in cabaret club mini game
  • Being assaulted by boomer lady
  • Being assaulted by most psychopatic patriarch, while he is horny for you
  • Delivering pizza on time
  • Winning a chicken in bowling game
  • Spending hours on pocket circuit racing
  • Takoyaki
  • Fighting one angry lieutenant over and over again
  • Beating the living sh*t out of billionaires
  • Most sexualized version of rock-paper-scissors
  • Tuna cannon
  • and many more
This game really has so much to offer that one from time to time weaker substory or mini-game is not too impactful, when there's 100 more waiting for you. I don't want to go too much into story or characters, but I will say this; Story has a bit of slowburn so in the beginning except for fights, I didn't care too much for it, which only changed after sewer fight with Kuze (it was so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ extra I couldn't stop laughing). Kiryu was way weaker protagonist in story sense than Majima and all the time reminded me just of the sad cat meme, though he had best fights in story. And I guess that's it?
Solid 8/10

Also how to cheese Amons' and Mr. Shakedowns after you get the Equipment shop:
Just f*cking use Zap Guns. Bought for Kiryu like 10 of them and beat Amon and Shakedowns' in under a minute.

Have you ever wanted to explore Pandora more? See perspective of regular folk? Well, Tales from the Borderlands is for you kiddo.
Gameplay wise do not expect anything great. It is glorified walking sim in classic Telltale Games style, where you explore small place from one camera angle, check out some clickables and interesting things, choose dialogue options with people and try to find things that move you forward in the story. And the story is where it is all about.
We follow story of two Hyperion workers, who just want to get rich and two Pandoran thieves, that want the same. In some convoluted action their stories tie together in the biggest twister and you follow the entire story from the beginning to the very end. Including those there are few other original characters, but most of them are from original Borderlands series and to say writing is meh, would be an insult. The writing keeps true to the series (thanks to work of Telltale with Gearbox writers) and exploring Pandora from different way was unforgettable experience. All the small details and easter eggs filled game was a treat to play for Borderlands series fan. All the new characters fitted world and I felt fully sucked into the lore.
This is one of few games Telltale didn't ♥♥♥♥ up. Maybe gameplay wise it's trash, but for all the fans they will find themselves intrigued and interested while playing. If this is your first instance of any game from Borderlands franchise I would recommend playing Borderlands 2 first (The first one and Pre-Sequel you also can, but mostly it's important to play 2nd one).
7/10 not enough Vaughn abs

The fate of humanity lies in your hands. Are you ready to uncover goverment's lies? Are you ready to sacrifice safety of your loved ones? In some cases there is no other choice and this is a story of Jade, the photo-reporter being dragged into inside the war on humanity.
It's old game from early 2000s, so the graphics might not be the most breathtaking for people who will play the first time, but unique and memorable. All creatures from humanoid to swimming fish in the ocean have wonderful and beautiful twist to them and exploration of Hillys is lovely as always. The characters have clear motifs and play interesting roles, wanting you to follow them and help in their adventure. The music also is different kind of artistry and stayed with me since I was 8 in my brain. It is hard not to fall in love with major themes.
Gameplay is easy and you will quickly upgrade your stats so Jade won't die quickly. I actually never failed this time in my playthrough so I wouldn't say the game is hard. There is your motorship mechanics too for races and small exploration, which can be upgraded too. Major part of the game is of course photographing and it's important source of money and some pearl earnings. Some of the animals can be found only in specific places, so it's fun to keep your eyes open to not miss any interesting species.
Overall it's wonderful game. I love almost every aspect of it (some racing can ♥♥♥♥ itself really and sometimes guards overload was pain in the ass, but without it game would be even easier so I guess something for something) and I replay it regularly on my old dusty PS2, and now perhaps will also do on PC. I recommend it even at the full price, but if it's on sale don't wait and relive childhoods of many users here.

Ehhh it's a pretty hard game to review to be honest. It's not bad, but it's so bland and shallow you get bored after 2 hours of gameplay already.
The good side is definitely art. Congratulations on it, it's so beautiful and charming, which was one of the major reasons why I even bought it. Some characters are hit, some are miss and will go into detail later.
And that's it I suppose.
The dialogues are very shallow and main character has no personality. Game tries to constantly joke and be quirky to the point where it gets just straight-up annoying and I was sighing along with Amanda. There is actually no replayability except just going for the favourite dads and even second play the route just to have different dialogue or to ♥♥♥♥ up relationship for gags is just boring and absolutely not worth it.
And Joseph. Don't start me on Joseph. His last date is a joke. I understand the creator does not condone cheating and that's why you don't end up with him in the end, but he already cheated by even going to bed with you. If Vernon really wanted so badly his convictions to be shown, maybe Joseph should have felt bad from the beginning and entire 3rd date would be about him trying to get back to wife. But oh well, let's give horny ass people some more, amirite?
The entire premise hides behind LGBT+ representation and being inclusive, but there are way better games about it. Try out Monster Prom, where quirkiness actually works out and is inclusive to even non-binary people.
No wish to try out new update and it seems impossible to get Escape the Margarita Zone without data mining, which is one of more interesting aspects of game, so them still keeping the achievement for it but not including is final slap in the face and I don't want to complete 100% of this game at all anymore
So in the end we have shallow dating sim, with no replayability value that hides behind nice graphics and being LGBT positive. As much as I love the inclusion and diverse things, I hate when they are done for just representations.
P.S.
Thanks for adding all the best aspects for Hugo and partly Damien. Got at least nice two characters.

Have you ever been a social outcast in your school years? Have you ever wanted to be part of the clique and finally belong somewhere, instead of being beaten up badly and then hear your parents yell about divorce behind doors when you play Team Fortress 2? Well you really aren't gonna be different here, but instead of getting beaten we will beat up sh*t heads.
Welcome to Bullsworth or just your normal school and relive your worst years of life, but with being able to go ape sh*it mental on all your peers without any repercussions. Attend classes or not (better do for upgrades you litte b*tches) and get the school feel of the existential dread.
Main character - Jimmy Hopkins is your normal deliquent coming from pretty broken family, where he was sent to Bullsworth to get his behaviour changed. However from the very beginning we notice that the school in itself is pretty rotten from the inside and no better with constant bullying and fights between cliques. So with help of few friends it is time to overtake the school and make everyone listen to you.
Storywise it's pretty silly and characters are pretty stupid, but those are teenagers and oh boy, we all were pretty ret*arded during those years. However sometimes it holds nice commentary on the society and tackles some serious issues. Sadly some more dark dialogue was cut out, but still it holds quite well. The cliques range from just bunch of bullies, nerds that fight with all the funky gadgets, preppies that have some sweet sweet fighting music, jocks that tackle you as soon as they will see you and greasers, who personally have best outfits and just feel to them. Even the faculty has very colourful cast from pain in the ass Dr. Crabblesnitch to some nice but broken folk like Mr. Galloway.
The game plays like classic Rockstar games. Combat is easy and you learn some extra moves on your way, but here you can also apologize to the faculty/bullies for them to leave you. Flirt with some token girls there (and some boys too) to get then health boost from a kiss. After Chapter 1, you also unlock city where you can travel with you skateboard, bicycle and even a scooter if you earn enough tickets in the carnival. Thankfully there is no stamina bar, however there are set of rules that Hopkins is supposed to follow and if you're caught doing them the authority will try to catch you and bust you up. Some of them include vandalism, bullying but also staying past curfew. Oh and Hopkins will automatically pass out at 2am so remember to get him to sleep.
It is quite a short Rockstar game, however it will take some time if you want to master it to the fullest. It's fun, full of jokes and interesting mechanics and unique missions with rememberable outcomes, which you will definitely reminiscence about. Overall the journey is fun, but has it's own flaws and some moments in the story and characters will annoy you to death. Maybe not the best title for replayability ranking, but definitely a game worth it's price and at least one playthrough.
Personally recommend, will wish to be part of greasers in the high school again.

Games have rough life, when the industry is so ever changing and developing rapidly. Will they sustain their playability, will they still look good after entire decade? Some withold the challenge of time, but most of them don't. So was Okami the chosen game?
Yeah, it ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ was.
I'm not gonna lie I do have great sentiment for it. I played it first as a 10 year old girl in 2009 and entire experience was magical. From stunning graphics to the music that I find myself wandering to even till current days. So when I heard there was going to HD version of it I couldn't wait to play it once again. Had to wait some time, but just few hours ago my journey with Okami has again ended I loved every minute of it (Well, maybe just perhaps ♥♥♥♥ the trial gates). For anyone that played it back over decade ago it was first chance to experience game in a higher resolution, on more clear screen and not the old ass box TVs that would snap at 3am with their cracking sounds. It was as wonderful as I played it back in the days and I saw even more details this time, which made the experience nicer.
What coming to the original story and gameplay, nothing of course changed, but I suppose I shall drop some insight for those who will consider buying and playing it for the first time. The entire game was made feel like old Japanese tale, with holding many references to old gods and just being set in Japan. Music and art both follow those structures and it is one of more stylized games in past years. We play as a goddess - Amaterasu, which took form of a wolf and have to save the world from darkness. On our path we will meet a very colourful cast, with almost everyone being very memorable (even shopkeepers were, when all of them had the same structure, just diffetent paint over [not gonna lie always was interested how next one will look as it was funny for me and still is]). All locations have their own feel and a lot of them are worth revisiting after certain points in game, just to be able to discover more of them.
Gameplay is easy to handle and reminds of golden platformer era of PS2 games, like Jak & Daxter or Sly Cooper. Amaterasu can learn many various fighting techniques in her adventures and gain a variety of interesting weapons called 'Divine Instruments' in this game. The unique element of this game though, are brush mechanics. In a parodying way we gain control over the scroll of paper and are able to draw on it with our brush, just like the old Japanese masters. On our journeys we learn the Brush Techniques which gain different abilities for us and with pulling out 'drawing mode' we can change the suroundings, help ourselves to get to the difficult places or even aid in fight. It makes player feel even more engaged in the situation and leaves us interested of what we will gain next as out ability.
Story is quite a mixed feeling for me though, I will be frank with it. I did love it, however the first part of it was the best and some side of me I guess hoped it was the only story, just more developed. After it the second part feels quite out of place and we don't get any sense of direction until getting to the city. The third and last wrapped things nicely and introduced one of my favourite character designs of this all game and one of the most interesting antagonist designs too. Overall the story is still strongly above average, but I would give it 7/10, needs more my favourite Susano.
So do I recommend it? Of course it is adventure like no other else and holds strong themes of friendship, hope, sense of purpose, destiny and more. It made me think many times and reflect on my own life a lot, not like many games do and happily would say it inspired me a lot. Especially during the final fight, the themes still held and I found them even helpfull with dealing with my own life goodbye's.
Why I am still writing this? Who knows, maybe I want to talk with someone maybe I want to help people. Both of those things may not even happen, but it doesn't matter, don't you think? In quotes from the game I would like to end this with
"Life is all about resolve. Outcome is secondary. It is resolve that determines the value of your life.”

Controversial opinion: I like this game more than HuniePop.
Hol' up until you pin me to the wall with 12 gauge shotgun. HunieCam Studio is way more involving player in the game than HuniePop in my opinion. Yes it's basically glorified clicker game, but at least you get results unlike most clicker games just involve getting more and more money. The variety of girls is bigger in it and personally I think the artstyle of this game is better than raunchy HuniePop (I'm not a lolicon, I'm a woman). I found it funny and interesting to see the girls traits or rather "kinks" they posses, finding best combos for lucrative model of my virtual brothel house and just had fun with finishing all the challanges listed in the achievements section.
Yes I did complete it, my parents aren't proud, guess why my username is called like that.
Despite me sitting less hours than in HuniePop, I didn't dread any minute in this game and wouldn't mind spending more time if I didn't get all stuff already (Yes I used to be the dress up games conossieur at age -12). Would be fun to see maybe DLC or sequel to it, but I guess HuniePop 2 is happening already, so that wouldn't be good business idea.
So in the end I rate my experience as brothel momma as 10/10

Ok, I spent quite a time invested in this game so I can speak my mind on it.
It's not a bad game, but not great either.
In the beginning it's just bizarre and absolutely fun time, however as you go through all dialogue with girls and get absolutely nothing new it gets very repetitive. Not like I expected Hideo Kojima level of writing, but this is game clearly not really with high replayability value as the other main feature expect wooing girls is puzzle game. Puzzle game is actually very solid and on higher difficulty can ♥♥♥♥ you harder in the ass, than the protag grills. I liked creating strategies with the presents for all the girl (or rather their most valued symbol) and seeing how fast I can ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ my way through.
However after finishing nothing really keeps you going further unless you are completionist.
I am completionist with frontal lobotomal damage so I did tried to master this game, but without playing it in windowed mode with youtube on other half of the monitor I would be bored to death and would never complete challenges.
So if you're curious, get it on sale if you are perhaps not millionare able to blow money on anything you want.
P.S.

It shone, pale as a bone...
That devs did not care.

This review is not a criticism of a game, which is brilliant on it's own but a butchered excuse of calling it a remastered version. It would be a rather insult to not recommend this game, but please play it in original version, because it's way less buggy than this one. And also you won't support those hacks under the remastered version.
In discussions in the community hub and even in reviews you can see the comments about that, but it's just baffling that developer's team totally dismissed fans and never released any patches to address any issues. The one especially that crashes your entire computer, forcing you to shut down your device. Wouldn't be so bad really, if this didn't happen every 5 minutes or in my case it was able to crash computer down in even less than 30 seconds. That's even quite fascinating. Multiple reinstalls, deleting or installing reccomended software and still it works just as previously. Some people don't face such issue, which is good as they can enjoy the experience, but for the unlucky ones... well I guess we just fed the belly of the gluttonous Tim Schafer.
And yes, the 4.9h I have spent in this game was the whole buggy mess with resetting every few minutes or sometimes seconds computers, just because I love this game so much. I endured so much pain for it until it just was unbearable... and until game also deleted my save. Yeah that can happen a lot.
It doesn't mean that exactly if you would buy it, it will turn out as a buggy mess. But it is basically a Russian Roulette at this moment. You get the bugless version - you win. You don't - you just burn your money.
So for the best result I have to say - just pirate the original, man. I am not truly a person that enjoys doing that, but this is sadly, but maybe even not, the only correct action considering the shady actions of Double FIne in recent years.
