A great new addition for die hard fans who want to add a little spin to their gameplay. I would not recommend if you already struggle with the base game mechanics. The DLC provides a new character with three forms which provide a level of dynamic adjustment on the fly to engage each of the jailers. If the characters were cars, classic rider would be an automatic, where onnamusha would be a manual.

The first is extremely fast and nimble, dashing is instantaneous at a fixed distance with alot of I frame, however the damage output is extremely small, making even basic projectiles difficult to deal with as you cant shoot, when you see it the first time you'll think they've gone insane, you can't even access the charged form for close up battles in this form, but don't worry the second form has your covered., The second form is extremely slow, has a slow dodge roll with no iframes (it feels like a darks souls fat roll), also cannot heal from parries, however deals incredible damage so much damage that going into the charged form seems redundant, it passively charges the meter for the third form (Star form), and has a rapid fire charge shot projectile. The core of this character's loop becomes balancing switching between forms for sustain & evasion vs damage and oppressive firepower, sometimes needing to make split second swaps in order to close the gap and dish out damage.

But wait what about the third form you may ask? Third form aka Star is accessible after charging the meter either passively or from what I can tell so far dodging, parrying, and successful attacks. When used it will last a limited time however your attack become inhumanely fast, your projectiles dealing absurd damage, the perfect answer for that phase of the boss you just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hate, however even with this insane power the bosses will still be the badasses they are and successfully avoid some of the attacks made in this form. 10/10 would recommend for players who love to add an difficult spin to the game.

This game is actually pretty fun so far, the cute little spites and upbeat music keep you going. Has elements of RTS and old school RPGs. At first I was a little concerned at the diffuculty curve climbing pretty rapidly in the normal version of the game, however this could be simply do to me not having good gear. Though I highly reccommend rebinding your quickswap keys if your more use to the WASD hand placement, is much higher in the F1 row.
