Early Access Review
I started playing Idleon at a friends recommendation, ready to sink my teeth into a game that had loads of customization and intricate systems. Overall it's been a fairly positive experience gameplay wise, but over the past few months I've seen hints of the game taking a turn down the true P2W path. There is a limited time cash shop in which some of the items are better than any item currently achievable in game. This struck me as not super cool, but still not really crossing my line of unacceptable.

Then we come to today with the pet follower update. This update was the one that really crossed the line for me. The bonuses locked behind this P2W system are gamebreaking to say the least. To put it simply, people were super excited when a new class came out that could link with two divinity gods at once (compared to the usual of one link). With the rarest pet in this new P2W system it allows you to connect to all divinity gods (of which there are 8 currently functional) with not only one character, but all ten characters, at all times. I don't see how anyone could see this as not gamebreaking.

Here's the kicker. This is a true gacha system, with no pity mechanics besides barely increasing your odds as you do more pulls (while also costing you more money per pull) and costing over $2 per pull at a less than 1% chance of getting this pet. Looking at the math here, you'll have to buy 82 pulls ($164) for a 50% chance of getting the pet or 189 pulls ($378) for an 80% chance of getting the pet. That is just simply not cool at all.

I'm not mad Lava, I'm just disappointed. I thought that you would actually respect the time (and money) that I've spent over the last year playing this game, but instead, you tell me to take out my wallet and pay to get access to this new content. While I still enjoy this game, I hope that you can recognize that this update was a colossal mistake.
