I find it quit amazing they are still supporting RL even now 5 years later.
I mean I know why (cough cough monies cough cough) but always it's nice to see.

Graphically it's really held up fantastic. Shows how talented Psyonix are with UDK.
Even more than Epic. I guess the buyout was just confirmation :p

Microtransactions are everywhere but at least they are 100% optional.

Matchmaking can be ♥♥♥ at times. Most times it will find
a match pretty quickly, pretty fair and at equal skill.

others, it takes nine years and the other beat your AⱾⱾ to curb.
and you can't to nothing about it. Kinda sad really.

Also they need to add forfit in casual if your in a landslide.
It's torture being in a team of idiots longer than need be.

Overall I do recommend it still but they still need to work on it, just a bit more.

Ylands?
More like YDidBohemiaWasteTalentOnThisCrapLand?
I get some of the sandbox aspects, to a degree that is what Bohemia is good at. But in this style, has been done to DEATH.

This is basically just non-VR Rec Room in the Real Virtuality engine which,
was unneeded because Rec Room now has a non-VR mode.

Also, this has limited gamemodes, even at launch
Barley any reasonably amount of customisation.

Also, this runs awful, for something so low poly I’d say for this to run at 90+ with no issue, about 40? ok then.

And the microtransactions, why? the only series' of Bohemia's catalogue I am aware of (remotely) is the ARMA series and most if not all that is just daft cosmetics, with this there is a paywall for a MAIN game mode, smh, how do you expect to get this off the ground? I guess I am picking at this a tad bit much but if you want players don’t take money out of people's wallets left right and centre.

It's a pretty weird flex, please go back to mill-sims that's what you are good at.
Where's ARMA 4? Could have been doing that but, no.

No loss if you do try it but I would say it's a waste of time.

Overall - 4/5 : Basically, closest CS game in VR fun with both strangers and friends but unfortunately has a few bugs that might just slightly hinder enjoyment a bit. First game I was convinced to buy after seeing some videos of the game. Don't regret buying and wish more games where like that in terms of content creation.

Editor - 3/5 : Basically, you can do anything you can in the UE4 editor apart from fog effects that have understandably been removed because of performance reasons. With saying that I think David messed up the latest project files so you can't even generate a UGC folder, it keeps saying to basically sync nothing (it uses Steamworks to manage uploading and why it says you’re playing Pavlov when you are in the editor) no folder means no upload soo yeah he really needs to get that fixed. Would give it more since you aren’t really restricted like many games.

Performance - 5/5 : Never really had any issue performance wise apart from a few of the bugs below but that is more to do with streaming assets in than anything. But also not like I made a config guide to improve it where possible either... >.> i totally did, shameless plug

On-boarding/Tutorial - 2/5 : There is one, a really small one in the range but doesn't go into depth much. Most of the stuff I have learned is from actually playing. Also still don't know how to set the bomb, those kinds of things could really effect the outcome of a match

GUI/HUD - 3/5 : Could be worse but could be better, like for instance when a player wants to kick someone actually having a overlay pop up onto actually how to vote.

Some bugs :
Connecting to lobby
- Hanging for like a century and either you "loosing" connection and having to restart Pavlov because like hell it would get out of it in that time the game doesn’t crash neither, also nice use of too many layers david! not like there is a leave button under the connecting icon and you can't even click to get out of the loop or anything... Pretty annoying when this happens a few times in a row.

- Takes like 5 years to open a map - These maps are installed locally and it feels like it takes 5 years to "load" the map, the game dose kinda crash at this point. But maps shouldn't take this long even for a UE game. smh
Think maybe making it NOT crash might help but still.

2 Hours doesn’t seem like it when you’re in VR

Prologue (skip if you want to get to me reviewing the software)
Just the other day, I picked up Ready Player One, yeah up until 2 days ago I had never seen it and I’ve heard all the “OMG x is almost like Ready Player One!!!1”. Apart from trailers and short snippets I never seen it. So, I bought it and was going to watch it in the most incepting way I could.

Streaming 4/5
Of course, I saw it clearly, although some people were complaining on the quality on their end. Had a look around and /most/ of the time it was Oculus GO users, could tell because they didn’t have hands and just had a model of the Oculus remote[fm.cnbc.com] instead, well….;

  1. YOUR ON A WIRELESS DEVICE AND A RATHER WEAK ONE, isn’t my problem your headset can’t handle it. (tbh ethernet + an actual tethered headset is the best way to go IMO). Some of the people effected said it looked blocky and some said it didn’t show the feed at all.
  2. I’m on a with a pretty up 100/100 mbps connection[www.speedtest.net] to date PC, so it is most likely not me.

Specs for those that are curious:
CPU: Intel Core I7-8700 @ 3.2GHz-4.6GHz
GPU: MSI NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 6GB VENTUS Overclocked
RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX @ 2400MHz (8GB x2) DDR4
LAN: 1GB/s out of motherboard but capped at the router (it's only 100 max anyway lol)

I don’t know if I was doing anything wrong, it was my first time streaming anything though bigscreen, apart from 14-year olds whining about that everyone else seemed to watch it with no issue. Speaking about that…

Younger users 3/5
Some were chill and watched the movie, AND BY THAT I MEANT NONE OF THEM. Heard a few 14-year olds coming in talking, and I don’t mean just maybe uttering a few brief words and shutting up but having a full-on conversation. Some users were telling them to shut up. But as 14-year old kids do…. they didn’t.
I knew my options to deal with these users I was having a nose around in all the options before the beginning of the film, I’m not a bad person and was almost about to use my powers but then they left. Also didn’t like how I couldn’t just warn them and something in silence or mute them for the entire room.

Other users 4/5
They were chill some said hello, some did talk about the film rather factually about the film (I just agreed I didn’t know about anything they were actually saying lol) although most only stayed for I’d say a max of 15 minutes and went. Although seen most times my room was the most popular on BigScreen for most of the film!

Performance 5/5
Is an app that runs Unity, has dumbed down graphics and has a emphasis on streaming films, TV shows and online content. Exactly what I would expect and exactly what I got. ‘Nuff said.

Conclusion
Film was amazing, and BigScreen gave me rarely any issues. definitely recommend this.

All I'll say is this:
I'm actually surprised that this is a Ubisoft game.

Although with that said they had to create an ENTIRELY NEW ENGINE to make this.
Will say though at least it isn't like all of Ubisoft's other games and is actually playable and runs like butter, even on Ultra 👌

But would say this just for a multiplayer ONLY game, for £33 isn't worth it IMO at least add something else into the mix like a maybe a short story then it might be.

All that aside, I am absolutely impressed and say this would be a great buy if it was at least £20-25 but still definitely something to consider nevertheless.

BUT TWO THINGS TO FIX!
Why the is the
sword OP as
F
U
C
K?

The amount of times this 12 year old kid was dominating me with that was crap was wasn't even bloody funny.

Also ADD A DAMN MUTE FEATURE!

Thanks

signed, the whole PC fan base who don't want to listen to whiny
screaming 12 year olds that can't even afford the tech they're playing on.

I was in the free weekend, so technically I got this for free.

The tactical missions are fun and enjoyed playing some.

There is only 3 maps (at least in gun game) 2 are as big as fk takes 5 years to get to the centre to be sniped by someone probably using something fishy (I see the anti-cheat is working great) to do the whole bloody journey again NOT GOOD FOR GUN GAME! Awful! HOWEVER! DO understand that that kind of map would be good for a mil-sim. One is small but it is NOT enough think nuketown XL and you are pretty much there, quite a lot of cover but most of the houses are NOT accessible and are just static models.

Your hitbox is as massive as fk you get shot from god knows where NO FEEDBACK AT ALL NO DIRECTION NO KILLER INDICATION, like a glow or something (minus the prompt but that dose sht unless you can actually see who is the person that killed you) also really fun when the damn text CLIPS INTO GEOMETRY HAVE YOU EVER HEARD OF AN OVERLAY?!

Quite nice looking for a Unity game

Defiantly without a doubt will NOT recommend this game to anyone really, map quantity is too small, HUGE hitboxes but when I shoot it dose fk all and doesn’t hit sht, the only things good about this game is of course the tactical element the missions, realistic graphics (although I DID see some OBVIOUS z-fighting[en.wikipedia.org] in the smaller map smh)

Changed a lot but NEEDLESSLY COMPLICATED!

BEFORE VS NOW
  • Tried this when It first launched about a year and a half ago and it was quite bad just a walking and talking simulator with some pretty visuals that dose still stand true and probably one of the only pros for Sansar.
  • HOWEVER, those pretty effects ALL. BUILD. UP. and can really erode people’s performance, for me it was on high by default and soon as I turned it down to low it was more than acceptable.

ADDING VR
So nice they eventually added VR (it's my first time returning to this since), minus it feels a bit low in terms of resolution and I can't see things as clearly, it's a step in the right direction. Could just be me and to be fixed with a swift glance over the SteamVR render settings but my current settings work fine in other VR titles.

AVATAR SYSTEM, just why? smh
  • How the hell do you expect people to make avatars with such a complex rigging system? The default rig you have on your docs[help.sansar.com] is horrendous, so many face bones. So many OTHER bones that really to be honest should be COMPLETELY optional because nobody would actually realise the effects of those bones.
  • Thurthermore on the topic of avatars and attachments, why can’t you just ADD and ADD and ADD things on an avatar? somewhat are clearly masks, helmets are just coming up as hats and you can only put on one at a time?! you could in SL, you should know…… you built it.

This is just going to get A LOT of trolls, and you have no way of preventing it.
I head that there ARE ways to mute (got to highlighting them but that was about it, controls are a bit messed up with that on WMR, also please add thumb stick movement.) Seen it for my self and I’ve only played this for 3 hours! ATM of writing this.

DO I RECOMMEND SANSAR?
Still NO. This is way still in its infancy even now, isn’t even worth calling it early access because it SO BROKEN still. There is other better metaverse applications out there, one by a specific Philip Rosedale for an example that, IMO is the proper successor to Second Life. Not this.... Pretty Ironic when you remind yourself who the devs of this are.
