If you are looking for a battlefield experience, buy this game. If you are looking for COD experience buy 2042. I played 2042 briefly before refunding it. After not playing a BF game since BF 3 I was really craving a good BF experience, but 2042 just wasn't it. It's still fun, don't get me wrong, but it just doesn't feel right. The tanks and vehicles feel clunky. The TTK is awful. It feels like everyone is a bullet sponge.
This game though is exactly what I was looking for. I just wish more people still played.
