Project Zomboid has become a strong contender for my favorite game of all time. Even without the zombies, it's a challenging life simulator with depth and nuance I haven't found in other games. And *with* zombies? Hands down one of the finest zombie games of all time.

Some might say the graphics are limited, but I find them charming and effectively illustrate the world around the player character. Each play through is guaranteed to be unique, character customization is virtually endless (build-wise or physical appearance), and the various gameplay modes (Apocalypse, Survivor, Sandbox, Multiplayer) offers new and engaging ways to play.

Generally, the gameplay can be difficult and the learning curve is steep. There is a LOT to learn to become halfway decent at PZ. I've been playing regularly for weeks, racking up 125+ hours in game, and I'd still only call myself "decent" at it.

But a word of warning, don't get too attached to your character, because there's a reason every game begins with the words "This is how you died." That being said, PZ offers an excellent platform for role-playing and storytelling. I'm eagerly awaiting new updates with NPCs, more weapons, and new areas of the map.
