Should you use Blender?
YES

It’s free, and being open source, there’s no easier way to get into 3D. The community is massive—tutorials on YouTube, forum posts, and Discord servers—there’s no shortage of help.

But aren’t there other programs like Maya or ZBrush?
The days when those programs had an edge over Blender are long gone. Blender is crazy good now, and honestly, the UI is way better than the alternatives. The industry is just too slow to catch up, but that doesn’t mean you need to wait.

Just make a doughnut or something, and see where it takes you. The learning process can be long and sometimes frustrating, but once it clicks, it’s like a switch flips, and suddenly you’re in love with it.

Quick tip:
If you’re doing 3D texturing, Adobe Substance Painter is chef’s kiss. But don’t fall for the subscription nonsense. Grab it on Steam for around €100-200, and you’ll get 1 year of updates, and then you get to keep it forever. It’s a one-time investment, and trust me, it’s faster and higher quality than Blender’s default texturing. Plus, it’s perfect if you’re planning on diving into game development.

In conclusion:
Blender is probably my favorite piece of software, hands down. My whole game studio, Insomnia Development, is built on it. It’s free, it’s easy once you get the hang of it, and it somehow runs faster than everything else out there.
