There isn't anything inherently wrong with the game itself, but rather the players who play it. The game was fun around 2016-2017 when it first came out, and I would argue even a couple years after that. But as of the past recent years (Specifically the middle of covid until now) the current player base are all sweats. And now that may just make this review seem like a skill issue, but it's not a "sweat" as in a bunch of players who try too hard, but rather it is a bunch of players who ONLY play dead by daylight. You CANNOT play this game casually or you will not have an enjoyable experience. All current players have at minimum 100 hours played in the past 2 weeks, and if you can find one single player who doesn't, I will be in astonishment.

Unfortunately, when you are going against a bunch of middle aged men and women every match who live off their parents life insurance and think they're the next big twitch streamer, the game is pretty much unplayable as they naturally have more experience and therefor skill in the game.

There's potential for this issue to be fixed with a competitive system, and honestly this wasn't as big of an issue with the old player ranking system (20-1), but they just scrapped everything and changed matchmaking completely for no reason, and now it is unbearable to play casually.

TL;DR - Do not buy this game unless you are ready to treat it competitively and work a 9-5 to master it.
