Quickly became one of my favorite games ever...

I have played Cabellas games for a long time, mostly on the console and with gun controllers even. I have always loved hunting games since good ol duck hunt but this game has taken it to a new level for me.

Multiplayer is better than any other altho as a F2P user you rely on finding a game hosted by a subscriber so you and whoever your playing with can join in.

The F2P is fairly limited but improved a lot. The game gives F2P members an ability to enjoy subscriber perks by completing missions or competitions to earn gm$ which can be used to purchase licenses for different game and some other store items. You can also earn free em$ instead of paying which is done by completing offers from their website. I have earned a bit of em$ allowing me to buy new gear like calls, camo, weapons and sights as well as a 1 day hog license when I was starting out.

I was able to obtain a couple retail liceneces of the game from a few websites which gave me a 6mo subscription each time and a some gear too which has enhanced my gameplay and quickened my process of getting to hunt other animals which has made things more enjoyable. When I started as a F2P I was stuck on Loggers Point any really only able to hunt Mule Deer until I could get a shotgun and ammo with gm$ that I earned by completing missions which let me hunt cottontail rabbits too. Now F2P can hunt a few more things and 2 animals are changed out weekly so things are much better than they were when you don't have an active membership.

The game is alot more realistic than most too which is GREAT because I wanted more of a simulation myself and not many games do this so much. I was a little irritated at first with this as I had to figure out which ammo and weapons I could use but after realizing and starting to read everything more I figured it out quickly.

I'm not usually a "Tutorial Guy" but I did find the provided tutorials useful especially after starting on a map I couldn't do anything on then talking to people who tried to help me figure out a little before being a "rager" and just quitting before I got started.

I originally rated the game 9/10 because I thought they needed to provide a little more to start out or a few public F2P hunts and such to make it seem less like a P2W type game as you had to figure out how to really play free unless you enjoyed hunting strictly mule deer on Loggers Point. Since the updates during 2015 into 2016 I would now rate the game 10/10. I can't wait for more updates as new weapons, camo, features, animals and maps get added from time to time.

I'd also like to add that I would appreciate it more if they made it a cross-platform game as I run Mac and Linux. I also think they should sell memberships and the in-game currency "em$" on the steam store as I'd like to keep my purchases here for tracking purposes.. Then they could also add steam trading cards which could be earned like other games by spending so much per card drop to encourage sales of extra game items and memberships... (Memberships were added but only the more expensive versions that include extras which people like me don't need since we have the itmes that they come with. I'd like to be able to buy just game time or game time + em$ instead but atleast they added some things to the steam store and they even go on sale sometimes.)
