I wanted to love this game so badly. It's got so much style & a unique concept. But ultimately it's very shallow. It has a very strong emphasis on story which in itself isn't a problem, but it's the main focus with little game play in between. It introduces concepts & mechanics that are hardly used & never gives you an chance to breath constantly cramming story & exposition down your throat. Also you get a couple of sword abilities that you'll rarely ever use because your basic sword attack for some reason is so much more powerful that it's not even worth wasting your time on spin attack, jump attack, or sword throw. A handful of decent puzzles, but overall underwhelming if you're over the age of 13. Clearly a children's game. The game also has a tendency to freeze on Steam Deck. I had deleted that comment from this review after changing to lower graphical settings, but still experienced freezing.

Edit: It's unfortunate that Steam only has a recommend or don't recommend option. I would very much recommend this game for young kids. My 6 year old daughter is loving it. However given the Steam platform demographic is typically older people, for this platform I will keep my review as don't recommend.

Game has entertainment value. Lots of customization fun. But having played almost the whole chapter 1 I'm finding the action is either easy and too far between or incredibly demanding, though not as difficult as people have been making it out to be. This is clearly a game that seems impossible at times until you realize the technique to defeat a boss or that you need to modify your build for a fight. Most people complaining about difficulty probably don't realize the important of the melee attack. Be prepared to swing between very simple button mashing action to quick reflex button mashing action.

Edit: I've changed my review from Recommended to Not Recommended. The caveat is if you like FromSoftware's "Soul" games, you'll probably like this game. However I can't recommend this game due to the fact that, aside from lacking a real lock on making it impossible to track a boss as it flies past you causing great frustration, sometimes you'll encounter a boss you're simply not equipped to fight. So you'll need to quit the mission, replay old missions just to make some money to afford the better parts to upgrade, and then replay the mission that had the boss so you can fight them again. Its very tedious and unenjoyable unless you don't mind grinding for no reason.

After about an hour of gameplay, I'm finding the game a bit generic and repetitive. But I'm not complaining because the gameplay is what I was expecting and wanted in a game. I just wish it ran better on Steam Deck, but even on lowest settings it stutters. Hoping to see better combos & weapons going forward. A lot of the action can take place far away and be hard to see. Not some great decisions over all, but the story seems like it may be interesting if not very deep and I respect what they were trying to do with this game.

The game is glitched. I've tried running ito n two different machines, and both are unplayable. Game starts, get to the gameplay, elephant doesn't move and jump button jets him up off screen.

This is a horrendous version of this game. If only it were a straight up Super Nintendo port! As others have pointed out, its the mobile version of the game (not like Nintendo DS version, but ios/android version). Although controls work just fine with a controller, the visual interface is abysmal. And the graphics don't looks the same. I was just thinking yesterday how awesome it would be if this game came to STEAM while listening to the Blake Robinson Synthetic Orchestra soundtrack of the game, but this was not what I expected or hoped for. I am going to try to get a refund which I've never found the need to do before. You are better off experiencing this game elsewhere in its truest form.

Great game. Includes the original with mouse point-and-click action. But the highlight of the game is the typing. With the ability to add dlc dictionaries with new words and phrases, you'll look forward to killing more zombies just to see what you'll have to type next!

I was really excited about this game and the idea behind it. Unfortunately I found it very easy and short. Anyone who knows how to use google can easily solve the mystery. Within 5 minutes I had a pretty picture of the details. And within 30 minutes I had the whole story. It doesn't help that by entering the title of the game into the search criteria you pretty much have most of it spoiled for you. Did I enjoy it? Admittedly I did. I just wish there had been more investigating required. More visual and audio clues that wouldn't come up in a search. Of course getting 100% of the videos is certainly difficult if you try to manually search for key words, but that's mostly because some of the videos are super short with only a handful of words spoken that are off topic even. But clearly, and thankfully, there is a way to view all the videos chronologically...a method that is searchable online and therefore I will not spoil in this review.

In the end I had some fun with this game, but it was brief and ultimately the brevity and simplicity was disappointing. It is still entertaining to watch all the videos in order though, like an episode of "Snapped" or something where they show these types of interviews.
