As I read all of the negative reviews, I must admit to some confusion. Let me be clear, this is indeed a single-player game, but with some neat community aspects. It's a diablo-esque dungeon delver, where the majority of the dungeons are player-designed as castles. It offers a neat change to the totally developer-driven gameplay of the genre, and offers a 'defense' option for gameplay. You can raid other people's castles or design your own, bringing various devious options to bear against enemy assault.

Some things are cash-shop driven, but certainly not all. You also gain gems (cash shop currency) in game, albeit at a slow rate.

I will note some disappointments:

1. The leveling, after about level 10, becomes quite slow and tedious. This could be sped up a bit.

2. The ability to expand your castle is actually rather small. You get additional rooms at a rather slow rate, and it takes awhile to make it feel like a true castle. I can only speak for up to about level 15 or so, but with about 9 hours sunk into it already, I'm a little surprised that mine isn't further along.

Despite these setbacks, the game is still enjoyable, and I will happily recommend it. Just be prepared to sink some time into it.

Early Access Review
Has quite a bit going for it, but is still in need of much love from the developers. I see this game being very, very fun as it is polished and content added, but you'll have to be patient. Recommended - try to snag it on sale.
