Barely any content, extremely uninspired and dull story with equally boring characters, uninteresting gameplay with very simplified mechanics compared to the more in-depth X-Wing series, forced politics everywhere, ugly art style, forced fan service, not well optimised PC port... Overall, not a good game, and represents everything wrong with Disney Star Wars. I don't know how you make dog fighting in space unbearably boring, but Squadrons somehow manages to do it. I played 4 hours and was nearly falling asleep. I refunded it and enjoyed getting my money back more than I did playing the game. It's crap.

Pretty neat little remake of the original game that adds some new stuff. It's clear it was made by a very small team though. The game feels quite janky and the movement doesn't feel right. And the HUD cuts off a lot of the view space. At least 50% of the screen is cut off by the HUD. Overall it's a nice little remake that is 100% free so I can't be too harsh on it. The soundtrack and voice acting is nicely done and the graphics are charming and keep the original style of the game.

I've been extremely skeptical of pretty much any Star Wars content since the disappointing sequel films and the disappointing EA Battlefront games. So going into this game I was praying that it would be great, and praying that I wouldn't regret pre-ordering it. My prayers were answered. This game is nothing but great! It proves that EA is capable of making good Star Wars games, and they really should just stop trying to be as lazy as possible like they were with the Battlefront games.

The gameplay is great. It's obviously most comparable to Dark Souls in terms of combat, but it also has the kind of exploration and puzzles that remind me of Tomb Raider or Uncharted. You spend a lot of time exploring vast and elaborate planets, and these planets are all extremely detailed. The exploration is rewarding and fun. The combat is thrilling and feels really solid too. Truly makes you feel like a Jedi.

The visuals are amazing too. Often times I found myself in awe of the detailed environments and the realistic but perfectly not-uncanny characters. Yet despite all the great visuals, it doesn't take away from incredibly satisfying and solid gameplay. Which is great. A game which balances both great graphics and gameplay without sacrificing one or the other is something to be marveled at.

The story was also a blast. It was a pretty simple and straightforward story, but the way it all unfolds is very interesting and will often surprise you. My only nitpick with the story is there are some characters that I would of liked to of seen more of, as they didn't show up very much. Again that's just a nitpick though, nothing that really ruins the story by any means. I won't give away anything about the story because honestly I think you should experience it yourself. I also really liked the ending. Just a great package all round.

The game also has a lot of lore to dig your teeth into, giving you written out information about even the most mundane things. I think it's a testament to how much thought and detail was put into the game. Even though I barely read most of the lore logs you scan and collect, I still appreciated the effort of it all being there. There's also a lot of throwbacks to the films and animated series, with some familiar planets for those who have seen The Clone Wars.

The exploration is rewarding, the combat is solid and thrilling, and the story was great. It's also a pretty decent length. The game took me roughly 25~ hours to beat. Yet it's one of those games where it doesn't feel that long at all, because it's so fun and addicting it all just goes by in a flash. And that's the kind of thing you want in a game.

I 100% recommend buying this game. Don't torrent it or anything. This is a great game which clearly had a lot of love and passion put into it, and we should really support games like this more, instead of scummy games that put out a broken product designed to take more money from you. This game is deserving of success. That is all.

A fun little Portal-esque puzzle game with some great characters and humour. The game is extremely short and I think it could benefit from being longer with some more difficult puzzles, but for what it is, it's a pretty awesome little package and a great free game.
