An enjoyable, 3rd person, action RPG.

+ The voice actors did a good job.
+ The writers did even better - NPC dialogues are wonderful. Metaphores, philosophy of life/death cycle, contemplation.
+ Story idea is refreshing, it is as if there is a static story from a book, but then the strange element or "you" is thrown in it. And, maybe you are not the only "dynamic" power in the book's story...
+ Nice combat with easy controls, with a bit of playing around you can combo things up.
+ Big game world, playthrough can be lengthy if you like to sidetrack.

- The world might seem a bit MMO-ish (because that was original plan for it).
- Too much eye candy - turn off post processing and enjoy the game.

~ If you are a person that skips every NPC dialogue and "rushes", you will find the game dull.
~ Recommended to play on Hard.

Cash grab product due to success of SCFA.

- bad design choices such as:
Terrain seems to have been developed by one team and unit models by another and then smashed together for release.
No distinction between models, everything seems the same with some mix, except experimentals ofc.
The quality of art is just shoddy.
- short campaign with sub par voice acting (or rather, the script is cringeworthy).
- massively inferior unit management (no building blueprints, cant build if you have more than 1 engi selected, and plethora of UI inferiorities to the first game).
- small maps, small unit caps (thx consoles).

...I could go on and on, but this game does not warrant me to give a ♥♥♥♥.

I could not find a positive aspect to this game.
Everything from the main menu to the end of campaign just reeks of low budget to maximise quarterly revenue during steam sale and whatnot.

Game is great,
I wouldn't call it "hard", you just learn by dying a lot, It is integral part of the game (if you manage not to die, you get stronger faster though).
One of those games where world is static in terms of difficulty, you start off as a weakling and grow stronger to beat the more difficult areas. Game is unforgiving in choices you make or things you do.

Throw your mouse away and use keyboard only.
With the right keyboard settings the game becomes much more enjoyable.

One of those games that have made its mark in the history of gaming.

Even though I have played only 3 missions I can say a definite Yes.

Mainly due to the story,
There is a replayability value because (spoilers)

You can't play as the good guys.

A great deal of artwork has been put into the game,
Yet it is completely destroyed due to the horrible voice acting.

Some secondary NPCs have better voice acting than the main protagonist, what were they thinking ?!


If you like casual romp-stomp and you are one of those people that skip every cutscene, this might be up your alley. It is an easy game.

Such amazing work on the gear,
wasted on such a ♥♥♥♥ game;
I pity the artists.
