Elite Dangerous is about as close as you'll get to exploring the Milky Way galaxy. There are all the standard options for things to do such as trading, exploring, and combat but ED really shines in the exploration category. It will undoubtedly become boring quickly for most people but if you want a semi realistic space flight sim with breathtaking graphics that takes place in our own galaxy then this is the game for you.
