Good for wasting some time.
But pointless enough to give it a pass.
Graphics are what they are, but the pixel art is good enough to entertain the eye.
If you like clicker games, then you should try this one out and figure it yourself.
There's too much micro-management, plenty of resources to adquire and invest in various ways.
The paywall is not that necessary for progresion, but you should consider that the game rewards you enough to keep you playing. Thought that was not enough for me, may be enough for someone else. I dunno, it's a free game to sit back and relax, nothing too demanding nor serious.
Though the game description says that it has plenty of refferences to other games, I haven't advanced enough to contemplate them, so if you are seeking that you should consider that you will have to invest some of your time in it, or not.

Superb gameplay, Superb graphics, Superb story.
This game is a must if you love old-school-shooters.
I disencourage anyone with the belief this is another COD-style-game to play this.
The only flaw is that is a single-player-only experience, it appears that this is solved in the sequel (which I didn't play), but nontheless this game presents itself in a less than serious manner, only to slowly become a near-masterpiece. And I say "near" only because of how underrated is the overall game.
The only con, which makes sense in a mechanical concept, is the fact that most (if not every) gun are practically useless in comparison with the Katana, which the game revolves around.
Other than that, the game succeeds in being loyal to the player and to transmit the love the developers had in making this work of art of a shooter.
The story is a jack of all trades for an action game, but as soon as you reach the end you start to realize how efficient the ilusion of the comedy was in distracting the player of the deep emotions involved in the lore.
Worth at full price, but it doesn't hurt of taking advantage of a juicy discount.

The real alternative for competitive shooters.
This is no joke, the game delivers in-depth mechanics for tactical combat and has the very essence of an old-school game.
Many may say that the community is dead, that's not a reason not to play it, that's an excuse.
The game is free, patched and functional, get your friends to play it and the community could be very alive in a matter of days.
There's a group that hangs out every Friday to play this game for the lulz, maybe you'd like to hop on some day to try it out. But since they're all very skilled it may be a little hard to catch up.
So, having said it all, enjoy this cyberpunk experience filled with refferences to GiTS. It's a beautiful game and no matter how forgotten it may feel at times, you can make the difference.

Okay.
I have played all the games from this trilogy, and I have one thing to say, hopefully for you it's not a complain.
The game is superb in gameplay terms, it takes all the best features from the original game and improves them with modern shooter mechanics, making the overall experience a very entertaining and dynamic.
The combat is awesome, though active cover may sound controversial for some, it felt rewarding with the aspect of being constantly cornered.
In terms of story it's not very exceptional, but it felt conclusive and well delivered.
As a side note: the map design was very uninspired, the details were considerably relevant, each scenario has it's own aesthetic and that gave a lot of identity to each interval. But it felt pretty much like a faccade given that the design consisted only in corridors with pretty ornaments and the same old active-cover-boxes.
In my eyes the gameplay compensates for that "mistake". No game can be perfect.
It has a pretty standard co-op system, which feels relevant when it comes to replayability. Though the ranking system feels streamlined and underwhelming, it makes a solid difference with how your experience will be on survival matchs, or even the campaign.
The shotgun is a sin in this game, it felt like an insult for the classic combat-shotgun from the first game.
But the pistol, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that is one satisfactory design and it feels neat when shot on an enemy, my favorite gun from the game.
Clearly not the best game of the franchise, but neither is the worst one.
Ironnically, this game managed to be the best CoD game I've ever played, clearly the best corridor shooter in the market.
What it does wrong can be easily ignored, making the experience still enjoyable.
But what it does right, it does BEST.
Overall score?
8.5/10: Very fun game to play alone, a blast playing with friends.
So don't forget to atunne your reflexes, you will have a lot of slide kicks to do.

If I had to pick three games to play for the rest of my life, Deus Ex would be my first pick without doubts.
This game has history in it, videogames weren't the same back then, and honestly there's no point in comparison, and this little gem shows it.
Now about the game itself:
It's complex, gameplay and story wise.
The very first thing you have to learn with this game is to be patient, to loose fear in making mistakes and to improvise.
There's a little exploit with the picklock and multitool in which if you wait for a couple of seconds in the backpack menu while you're using your first tool on a lock, regardless of how many of them would be needed to unlock it, you can get through it with a single use of the item. This does not apply for doors that are scripted to be open solely with keys, but it's something to keep in mind if you care about scarce resources.
Then there's the upgrade system, it's... precarious, but engaging. Keep in mind tho, swimming is fairly useless, and the rest of them will show how your gameplay style is being defined. So paying attention to those details are very important.
The augmentation system is nothing like you can imagine, you will be encouraged to explore and to investigate every little detail of your environment to get that one cannister which will unlock a certain skill in your primitive tree. From which you will be welcome to choose from two polar opposites on the same regard. A good example are legs: you can either run faster, or walk more silently. Not both at the same time.
Sadly the Augs are locked in a most uncomfortable part of your keyboard. All the F keys are bound to certain Augs and I, personally, cannot seem to relocate them in more accesible keys. But believe me when I say you will get used to it.
A last note about something I said earlier:
The very identity of this game is the map design, in which you are welcomed to approach your obstacles and objectives in your own terms. That is: you can use the tools at your disposal and your creativity to play the game in any way you want. You want to kill everyone? Do it. You want to be a shadow in the mist? Do it. You want to hack everything? Do it. I will not assure you it is gonna be easy, but take this for granted: you're gonna have a lot of fun if you can see beyond the graphics and the outdated interfaces.

I'll try to be a brief as possible.
I literally don't know where to start, but i guess that the first impression that this game gave me is of a huge unfinished project; but I understimated whatever that got finished.
This is a game that will take you from "not knowing how to open a door" to "fight colossal monsters on the surface of mars".
And i think that the part of the game that got me involved the most was trying to figure out how the game worked; and of course the realisation that the key for a true experience was the replayability the game has, in which of course you have a vast variety of guns and skills to shape your style however you want. And of course a lovely progression system built around brouzoufs.

To sum up.
Play it, get frustated, keep playing, gain brozoufs, get some friends, check your legs, grain more brouzouf, enjoy.

This game is so bad written that you actually don need tho read the whole text to know what is happening.
Besides the fact that your decitions through the game doesn't make any actual differences on the story, the gameplay is just clicking over hyperlinks to read the rest of your "story".
The story is about some person (you; and the genre isn't specified, wich makes everything a lot confusing) that is wondering what to do about it's life.l The character is around 22 years old, and it's a complete moron; the "game" is supossed to make the player actually "feel" what is it about having "depression", when the character is just being a complete ♥♥♥♥♥♥ about everything and playing the "victim" role.
Actually, the thing that most bothered (sadly not the only one) me is that the only character that's actually well personified is the main one, the rest of the characters of the story were just a cliché of what the "main" character thinks about people, getting you away from what's really happening, and confusing your gameplay.
You can make decitions, but only the ones that the game lets you make, the others are actually ridiculous and are marked in red (ovbius sign that is just more text to read) this gimmick of the game makes you feel that all the decitions you make are all the same. And the worse part is if you make ALL the "wrong" or "bad" decitions, you character never kills itself. It always ends up the same or you just curl up onto your bed and sleep, or you "deal" with it and be ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ around about your "depression".

2/10 only because you can adopt a kitten (wich makes no difference through the story, but eventually appears to sleep in your lap)
