If you liked Dark Souls then you'll definitely love Sekiro. I like to think of this as Samurai Dark Souls with an actual story that you can figure out without studying on lore. The combat in this game is just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ great as well. Parrying is a must in this game though (unlike Dark Souls where you could get through the whole game without throwing a single parry) which I like.

There isn't any broken combat mechanic that makes you feel like it's the games fault for how you died either (think DS2). Everything feels extremely fleshed out and with my ~7 hours that I currently have on the game I haven't found a single bug and so far I've been able to get through several areas of the game.

Seriously though the combat in this game is so addicting that I like to fight every extra there is, its awesome. If I were to compare the difficulty of this game to one of the three DS games it'd have to be DS3. The bosses are obviously difficult but once you learn their attack patterns it becomes marginally easier to finally defeat them.

Speaking of the bosses so far I've come across several bosses and mini bosses and I must say they don't recycle anything. Every boss/mini boss has their own unique abilities and fighting style that forces you to master several different mechanics of the game. For instance one mini boss I've come across forces you to master breaking their guard due to how the enemy is set up to be (watch a clip of fighting the armored warrior if you want to know what I mean).

The change of theme from the DS is also a great change of pace. The enemies and the atmosphere still strongly resembles that of DS but it still feels like its own game.

Again, you liked the Dark Souls games, DEFINITELY pick up this game, you won't regret it.
