A story based game I was ecstatic to sink almost 200 hours into on my first play through is something I've never experienced before. I would wholeheartedly recommend this game to lovers of the fantasy genre or video games. If you get the chance and have the time, please pick Baldur's Gate 3 up and immerse yourself in the wonderful world and gameplay Larian Studios has masterfully crafted. You won't regret it.

This is an incredibly entertaining real-time strategy game with simple mechanics to grasp and plenty more complex ones to master. I'd whole-heartedly recommend it to anyone who has played previous editions of Age of Empires and is hoping to experience more.

Simple, addictive, fun, and free. It's a wonderful auto-battler you can play for a quick break or dive into for hours at a time. Despite still being in beta, the gameplay has been an utter blast. There's even a surprising level of depth to its mechanics when you really get going. I'd highly recommend it.

When you examine One Step from Eden’s reviews on Steam, you may notice two main differences between positive and negative ones. Most positive reviews are relatively small, while the negative ones are longer. The second and more important difference is play time. The positive reviews typically have at least twice the play time of the negative reviews, and I believe that tunes into the nature of this game and highlights if you may like it.

If you find yourself inclined to play a rogue-lite and expect quick mastery (five hours or less), you should probably look for a different game. One Step from Eden has a slew of mechanics with bosses and enemies who require you to learn their merciless patterns. You will die repeatedly, and if you’re easily frustrated at failure it’s unlikely you’ll enjoy this game.

If you find yourself looking for slow and methodical gameplay, you should probably look for a different game. This game’s pace is blistering once you get into the later sections, you’ll find yourself moving to one area only to realize it’s not safe a second later. The key lies in constant adjustment while demanding your full attention. For some people, that can be rewarding. For others, the lack of time to think can be infuriating.

I believe most negative reviews for this game were made from a place of misunderstanding, and that you should sincerely consider giving it a chance. If you find yourself interested in hair-trigger gameplay, unique and wacky mechanical interactions, and an enjoyable game all wrapped up with a bow of borderline addictive gameplay, One Step from Eden is the game for you.

This game is absolutely a challenging one, but it’s equally rewarding. Each run feels distinct from the last. The weapon variety combined with its slew of mutations (passives you’ll receive as you level up) will leave you feeling just comfortable enough to keep coming back without babying you. The game also has an active community on Discord, and its daily and weekly challenges provide a fun set of competitions to participate in long after you’ve completed every achievement. I would wholeheartedly recommend it to any fan of rogue-lites.

A nice, quick, and relatively simple puzzle game with some existential themes that should eat up a couple hours and address a few cool sci-fi concepts. Worth the time, but not very replayable. Pick it up on a sale, as it's probably not worth the full $20.
