You've definitely heard all the fuss over the persona series one way or another, and I must say it is all warranted. Having heard about the game before and finally having a means to play it, I figured the game would show me a good time but it wouldn't capture my heart.

Oh god it did.

I'll just cut to the chase here:
If you want an RPG with a neat social twist on the formula then I'd say give this game a try - it's only 20 smackaroons.

If you are faint of heart do not read beyond.

I'm not a horror buff in the slightest, but there was just something about this game that lulled me in - I can't say that I regret it.

The visuals are very reminiscent of the works of Junji Ito and the fact it is in 1 bit / 2 bit just oozes charm. Gameplay wise this is a rougelike RPG, so it will be difficult at first but as you get more and more runs under your belt things will start to get easier. There's a nice chunk of content already here despite it being in early access, so you will be getting your money's worth if you decide to pick up the game now. There are currently some exploits that can make runs abysmally easy that will probably be ironed out in future patches, but I haven't encountered any glitches that have crashed my game. For just one guy working on this title, color me impressed with how good it is so far.

Now a little note for those of you on the fence:
If you are on the fence about this because of the "horror" part let me say this - the game's horror primarily derives from the visuals, writing, and atmosphere. There are some events that have jumpscares, but once you've seen them once they will not surprise you next time you see them... except alt-tabbing out of the game for long periods of time and then tabbing back in... I always forget about that one. If you're into the horror aesthetic but do not like jumpscares, then I'm sure you'll get some enjoyment out of this game.
