I first played it at launch, back then I didnt bough it
At that time, I felt so bad that I decided to still pay for it.
Now, 4 or 5 years later, I came back to it, and it is still as enjoyable as ever, one of the most beautiful game I have ever played, with an incredible soundtrack. It is one of the very few games that made me tear.

It is both very intimate yet powering, I've got nothing but praises for that game.

I loved Settlers 6, Rise of an Empire. I had issues with the 7th, yet was able to love it for that time.
This iteration is a scam, a shame, it does not deserves to be a Settlers.

The gameplay itself is fine, way less restrictive than it was for the 7th (pretty hard to get into it) while still being quite harsh compared to the 6th, that's not my main complain.

The narration is a straight downgrade from the last iteration, no more no less than that, It doesnt make any sense, illogical, is sloppy at best, with little to no connexion between each stages.

I've seen quite a few people say the graphics are alright... I disagree, not for 2024's standards. Yes, they are great when you compare them to previous game, but not that much. The 3D is pretty messy, but most of the game being played with an above view, it does not matter that much. What does matter tho, is that this view itself is quite lacking to be perfectly honest ! I 100% prefer the DA from the 6/7th, and the graphics are here comparable to a early 2010s game. Age of Empire IV came out a year ago and is leagues beyond that game, in a kind of game where the difference shouldnt be that drastic !

I have no problems with Ubisoft ID or microtransactions as I am not a buyer of such stuff, and did not bother me when playing solo.

The different factions feels a lot similar to me, without that big change I hoped from the "about this game" information.
They do not differ that much in look, and their story is abysmall at best.
The story driven campaign promised is a pure sham, with caracters with no substance, low effort, no charisma, a simply failed narration from start to finish.

That game lacks both the narration, the gameplay (compared to the 7th, that one is just a disapointment), and did not held up its promises.

I have received that game for free, gifted from my brother as it was a licence that was with us as we grew up. I feel sorry for him to have spend that much for both of us on that scam.

Do not recommend above 5e/usd. Go play Settlers 7 or something else like Northgard...

Un bon jeu, entre potes ou pas, où on peut faire plein de belles rencontres avec les "slav girls you're always wanted" !
Il est juste un peu dommage que la communauté puisse être parfois réellement énervante... Enfin bon, ce n'est pas au niveau d'undertale au niveau mauvaise communauté ! (me taper pas pour avoir dit la vérité svp)
