My playtime is "low" due to originally owning the game through Bethesda's game launcher. They offered free low-hassle game transfers to Steam when they shut their in-house launcher down. In reality, I have hundreds of hours sunk into this game since release. It's a Fallout game for people who enjoy a Fallout-style environment, plain and simple. The story is not the best in the franchise, and it's also not the worst. I play Fallout 76 because I can immerse myself in a massive map that feels the way I want it to feel and allows me to scavenge to my heart's content. Overall the difficulty level is perfect for casual players and those who simply do not have time in their busy adult lives to be 'hardcore' anymore. Enjoy this game for what it is and do not stress yourself over what it is not. Approach it from this mindset and you'll have a fantastic time. And no, Fallout 1st is by no means required to enjoy this game, nor is anything that you will find purchasable in the Atom Store. Buy those things if you want them, not out of obligation.

Tried it ages ago and set it down to "wait for improvements." Well guess what: There have been improvements, plenty of them! I'm quite enjoying the game now, and look forward to continuing to do so.
