Finally got around to 100%ing this game and I am satisfied that I did, it's a rougelike but with very NESy game design. (in a good way though) the only bug I encountered was on my first attempt at getting the 50K points achievement, where the game bugged out and did not spawn the grail needed to beat the game. However I did later clear it on my 2nd try. very good for those who want a smaller more bite sized game while not sacrificing quality. very much worth the buck spent.

Biggest fall from grace I've ever seen in a game before.

It's no secret Seth Robinson and Mike Hommel don't even so much as use their old accounts anymore, and when you find out the current state of the game, you'll see why.

First start off with items, before the Ubisoft acquisition each item has a set purpose and was balanced around there being a infinite number of them. However now it seems as if Ubisoft doesn't care, with the introduction of the Magplant 6000 several "Break for Gems" worlds have showed up witch completely destroy the economy allowing anyone to get hundreds of thousands of gems in a single afternoon, devaluing the purchasing power of the games trade economy, forcing you to have to pay hundreds of World Locks in order to get anything the player might need.

Another thing to note is that the Steam release does not allow you to use your old Mobile accounts, so if you want to use them on PC, you'll have to install Bluestacks instead.

Lastly, and the most damning piece of evidence is the Illegal Gambling, this isn't a "against the rules" gambling, but legitimate illegal gambling, as you can use real money to buy gems, and use gems to buy world locks, and since world locks are the trade currency, they're always used for gambling, and sense they use the roulette spinner item, it's pure RNG. It's a miracle that GrowTopia has never come under any fire from any gambling commission, but I guess Ubisoft is just too big to fall.

It sucks too, back in 2015 this game was amazing, I remember every day after school I would boot up this game and play all night, and it sucks that this is the current state of the game. Portal Worlds was considered a ripoff of this game, and yet somehow it turned out better, a sad, sad story.

A decently fun and challenging game, definitely for those who quite enjoyed the first Zelda game and want more content like it, even emulating the slightly outdated although well designed controls. The shotgun mechanics take some getting used to but the game is balanced around them. It took me about 4 hours to beat the game. (including deaths) and another about hour and a half of searching for the few items I missed, being able to beat the game without everything however is a very wise design choice. Because it means you don't have to wander around looking for that one item that was missed. The only gameplay complaint I have is that the shotgun is way too good and overshadows the other weapons. often to a point where I hardly used them. (and the wave canon can't even damage the major bosses anyways) It also has a nice callback to the developers previous game. I would highly recommend this game and for a buck, it's worth the price, even if the game can be 100%ed in an afternoon.

The game is in a much better state now than it was after my last review, Although the bugs mostly got band-aid fixes. The god spots on Little Town are now just straight up apart of the map, and man others now have invisible walls preventing you from reaching them. Although the wall jump bug is still in the game. There is now 4:3 support but it feels intentionally bad, almost like me mentioning the corrupt mod "GraceSmokey" ruffled a few jimmies. I have no clue is she's still on the mod team, because after my previous review I appear to straight up be IP banned from the server completely. I'm keeping the negative review because the issues brought up in the old review have not gotten proper fixes, although this is a far better game now.

I got molested by a horde of Neco-Arcs
